Works Great, Even on Onions
There's a lot of stuff you can do with this thing. And it great at it all. Well worth taking up the space in my drawer with all the other helpful kitchen utensils and handheld gadgets.Got it out yesterday to take the core out of some onions. Absolutely brilliant. Didn't cry a bit. Well not until I started watching videos on YT about bone marrow donors. But yeah, that was the onions from earlier that day. Just a delayed reaction. It happens. Google it.If you liked this review, give it a like and God will save a puppy some place in the world. In any case, this tool is built well and super easy to clean. I use it all the time. Seems to be built very well too.

Simplest & Easiest Corer I've Ever Used...
After turning my family onto a childhood comfort food (Irish oatmeal w/ baked apple) a few weeks ago, I've been badgered to make it more often. Coring apples was becoming a MAJOR pain in the posterior & the combo corer/peeler I'd gotten from a local department store was not making it an easier task. I took a peek on Amazon & saw this one, saw the price & figured it was worth trying as it was actually cheaper than the useless corer/peeler. I was amazed at how simple this corer did the job. While the apples pictured are a MacIntosh & Smitten, I also used it on a Honeycrisp, Granny Smith & Red Delicious & it went through every one of them like a hot knife through butter. As a botany degree having gardening freak, I also like that it keeps the core intact as I can use them in planting the seeds & the remaining core will help them grow as it breaks down into the soil. I have lupus & early onset arthritis & recommend this corer to everyone, esp. if they have a painful affliction that makes it hard to use assorted kitchen preparation utensils. I like to bake & using this for my much loved & lauded baked apples & the all time family & friends favored apple & candied walnut pies will make preparing the apples 1000% easier. Whomever created this is a genius.

Amazing how well it works! Best kitchen gadget!!
This is my favorite little gadget in the kitchen. I bought this to help with the difficulty of removing the core from an apple for Apple pies. I didn't want a corer that sliced the apples because I have a food processor that does the trick. I was simply amazed at how easy and well this corer worked. I was able to core 30 apples and hand peel quick enough the apple didn't brown.Bonus, my three year old now eats apples because in his words "the inside does not look weird."

This was great for the first dozen uses
This was great for the first dozen uses, but then the ends got out of alignment and it no longer works well.

Fruit punching improved.
One of those items that you think are so specific that you’ll never use it, but you’re so far off.Punching apples in the core, ripping thier useless guts out, and flinging them into a mildly overstuffed trash bag or even into a running garbage disposal is just one of the joys of life you can experience with this multifunction tool. I know you’re thinking “What about composting? You didn’t mention flinging fruit-guts into a compost heap. You hate Earth.” No, no, it was intentional. Let’s just be honest with each other... If you compost, you don’t use a corer. You gnaw the middle out of your apple and deftly remove the sweet flesh down to the husk of the seeds. It’s never going to come to the point where you ram this sharpened tube into your unseeing victim. So, like I said, multi-tool... I’m not saying it’s great for removing eyes, or for stamping scallop shaped chunks out of stingrays, or even that it makes an impromptu speculum... but I’m not saying it doesn’t either.

Time saver!
I have went back and forth on whether I should buy this corer. Could never bring myself to spending $10 on one, when I could easily continue cutting out the seeds manually. I certainly didn't think the quality of this product would hold up.This time of year is crazy for me where cori g out apples is a must. I make a lot of apple pies around the holidays. So as you can imagine, that's a lot of coring by hand. So I went and bought this corer. After the first few apples, I was sold. The unit itself seems very strong. It took nothing to push through the apple, and out through the other side. It left a very clean cut all the way through. Holy crap. Never would have thought I'd be this happy about an apple cider. So with that, I would recommend this to anyone that is currently cutting out seeds/cores by hand. Definitely a time saver

Our J.A. Henckels swivel peeler broke and it took 2-tools to replace it.
We used our Henckles Twin Cuisine Peeler (purchased in 2008 for about 10-bucks but no longer available) swivel tool as both a vegetable peeler and a coring tool but the coring ultimately did it in. I guess the years of use and the additional leverage used to pry out potato eyes and insect holes in hard fruit like apples and pears was just too much for it and the price of replacing it with the same tool was just way too expensive. We opted for doing it with two tools and this was one of them and it turned out to be an excellent choice and I have absolutely no complaints with it. Actually, the price of the combined tools was less than buying another Hencklels. There’s not much you can say about a tool like this other than it does the job, it feels good in the hand and not using the same tool for peeling and coring seems to be a much better choice. You can really get a good grip on this one and apply a lot of pressure.

Really great kitchen tool
I love this product! I usually eat an apple every day, and slicing them puts less strain on my jaw (TMJ), plus it makes them easier to share if they are large and you have to coax loved ones to eat fruit. No matter the size, this gadget safely and easily slices the core right out of the middle, so no more picking out seeds or trying to cut away the hard section surrounding the seeds. Cleanup could not be easier.

Great Purchase.
I was looking for a corer by its self. I have a corer/quarter but I wanted to make apple dumplings using whole peeled and cored apples. I thought that trying to cut the core out of an apple with a paring knife would be difficult and probably a little dangerous. I was absolutely delighted when I found this little item. It is a cinch to get the core out - just push it straight down over the core and presto...the core is out and the little lever on the side makes it very easy to remove the core from the corer. I love that it is stainless steel so it doesn't rust and the ergonomic handle is so easy on your hand. I just love it. Please give it a try if you love apple dumplings or even just baked apples. I strongly recommend this apple corer to family and friends.

Super easy to use!
I bought this apple corer so I could make apple chips in my dehydrator and I'm loving it. It's nice and sharp so it doesn't take much pressure to go through the apple and, once done, the core can be quickly disposed of. The handle fits well in my hand as well. All parts of it seem very sturdy (I've used it on 2-3 dozen apples so far with no issues) and the corer just requires a quick rinse when you're done. I have used other corers that also slice the apple (which I didn't want for the apple chips) and this one is much easier to use. Overall very impressed!

Updated previous review
I have only used it once. Couldn`t get the core out with the product. The more I tried the deeper it went. The apple ended up cored all the way through. This was not the desired outcome. I`ll see how it turns out the next time I use it.Up date to previous review as of Nov 24/17. I received an immediate response from Newness regarding this review. They sent me pictures of what the end result should look like. The product in fact performed as advertised. I would definitely recommend this product for the simpleness of coring an apple.

Pretty straight forward
This device works quite well. it seems sturdy enough and it is sharp. A couple times I missed the core of the apple a bit and I was able to 'cut' it out by pushing the corer back into the centre of the apple to get the rest of the core. The core ejects out very easily and it is easy to clean.I did not rate the "suction power" as this does not apply to this device in my opinion.

Amazing Invention - Makes making Apple Pie Much Easier with Less Waste
Only recently discovered such a product - can’t imagine not having one and having to resort to the old method of using a steak knife instead. Totally recommend this for Beginners like myself or a Pro.
