Very Nice Rings That Are Relatively Easy To Install
I have two Kimber 84M rifles in .308, one for each daughter, both with Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36mm scopes. So to distinguish them, I mounted the silver colored Talley rings on one rifle and the black Talley rings on the other. The silver rings picked up the receiver color nicely (not a perfect color match but close) and the matt black rings picked up the scope color (also a close color match), so both look great.I have all the requisite scope mounting equipment one would ever need. But, since the ring/base is one monolithic piece, it's a fairly straight forward process mounting these rings. You'll need a torque clutched screwdriver like the Weaver "FAT" model as well as a reticle leveling system and some alignment bars appropriate for your rings size (e.g., 1 inch, 30 mm, etc.). However, since the base/ring is one piece, the alignment bars are arguably superfluous; assuming Talley and Kimber did their jobs, the rings will align. In my case, both sets of bases and rings squared up nicely on the receiver and were spot on wrt alignment when I checked with the bars. One piece of information missing though is was proper torque settings for the base and ring screws. This was not provided with the ring packaging nor was it listed in Kimber's User Manual. However, Talley's web site provides the correct settings for both the base and the ring screws for your rifle. I strongly recommend that you use these numbers and don't guess, the outcome could be a scope moving under recoil or worse, stripped threads. I also used Loctite's Blue 242 Threadlocker on all screws. This is a medium strength "thread locking" compound made specifically for fasteners to help avoid vibration induced loosening and rusting of threads. One thing I didn't do that's typically recommended is lap the rings ... and does Talley recommend it. This was a hard lesson learned though. I didn't believe Talley at first and went ahead and lapped my first set of rings anyway. I very quickly - as in a couple of lap strokes - damaged the aluminum alloy rings to the extent that I had to replaced them. Subsequently, with the second and third set of rings, both scopes went on, unlapped, without any problem or apparent high/low spots.I don't remember if Talley matches the rings but I strongly recommend that you mark each ring half with the other using a temporary marker right out of the box so that they can then be later pair up the in the correct front-to-rear, left-to-right, upper to lower ring orientation. This will prevent any issues of a mismatch if the rings are matched dimensionally.Since the original installations, I've had to remove one of the scopes for an unrelated issue and there were only very faint ring marks on the scope tube. Granted this is a sample size of one, but I'm reasonably satisfied that Talley's advice not to lap is correct. You may feel otherwise but please proceed slowly and gently with lapping should you choose to do so.As a side note, a nice feature about Talley's base/rings design is that they don't block or obscure the bolt/receiver area; you'll have full access to the chamber and magazine for loading and unloading, not something that's always the case with other designs/manufactures.In conclusion, both rifles have been used now for several target shooting sessions and I've had no issues whatsoever. I'm certainly looking forward to the fall hunting season as are my daughters. Assuming Dad did his job correctly, these two rifles should provide each of them a lifetime of shooting and hunting adventures.

Lighweight and rugged
Mounted a Leupold VX-2 with no problem. Used on a couple of rugged hunts already and the scope stayed true.
