Learn to Tat

This is a nice book. Made a couple of the daffodil doilies. They came out so beautiful. I may make another very soon. Definitely purchase this again. I am new to tatting having just started a couple months back now. I have quite a little collection of tatting books and this is one of my top fav’s.

Exactly what I wanted. Easy to read and learn from using the DVD

Tatting is for people with agile fingers! Years ago an elderly neighbor lady wanted me to learn to tat, and I resisted. I was more interested in learning to knit or crochet. SO, at 57, I finally purchased a tatting shuttle and this instructional book and DVD. Oh, I can do what they're showing me, but my fingers are not nimble enough to do it well enough to enjoy it. Absolutely wonderful book and DVD, well-taught and illustrated. Maybe I can convince my daughters to use that tatting shuttle..... ;-)

I decided to learn how to tat after years of crocheting. Tatting requires patience to learn. There is a high learning curve. It took me a while to learn how to make the double stitch. This book was helpful, especially the accompanying DVD. You can learn to crochet by following written instructions. With tatting, you definitely need the visual assistance. Having the written information as well as the DVD helped tremendously. If you watch the DVD and follow it step-by-step, you will learn. Once you learn the basic stitch and start tatting, you can pick up additional tips through the numerous videos on the subject on You Tube.

For many years I've been wanting to learn to tat, but it isn't easy finding a teacher for this. In a local shop I had seen several copies of this book on learning to tat. I couldn't get it that day, but when I went back a few days later, alas, they were all gone. When I looked it up on-line, Amazon came back with the exact book I wanted at less than half the price in the store. I came out the winner. This book is excellent. Within a few weeks and 20+ butterflies later the skill to tat is mine. The DVD is great.

When I first saw this book available, I was excited, so I ordered it. I waited at least a week, and finally it came to me by UPS. I opened the package carefully, and removed the dvd from envelope in the middle of the book. I tried several times to play it, but it wouldn't work. I examined its surface, and there didn't seem to be any scratches on it, but along the edge of the disc there was a little chipping. The book itself is fine and easy to read, but still I need to see things done hands on. I notified the seller, and they ordered another one for me. I waited another week or so, and it finally came. I was happy that they took care of it so promptly, and couldn't wait to view it. The problem is it also did not work, so then I tried it in my computer, which plays dvds. It wouldn't work there either. I don't know why it's not working. It says Disc is unplayable or something like that. I notified this seller again. I am afraid to get anymore replacements, because now I will have to wait even longer, and honestly I am afraid it's not going to work.

Easy to fallow instructions having the DVD along with book makes it easy to fallow and go back and understand hand movements

Veloci e pratiche le spiegazioni senza inutili chiacchiere, arriva subito al punto. Facile da capire anche per chi parla poco inglese. Buone le illustrazioni.

I am delighted with this book and the easy-to-follow instructions. The video included with the book is a real bonus. Some of our national handicrafts are in danger of disappearing and whilst I am not a fan of "save everything at all costs" I think that future generations might be interested in exploring old skills. My current target audience comprises young grand nephews & nieces so I need to make sure my skills are properly honed! Excellent service from Amazon as usual: packaging good; delivery on time as planned.

タティングレースの基本の本です。すばらしいのは、DVDの内容です。アップでゆっくりテクニックを実演してくださるのでとても参考になりました。本を見ていまいち理解できなかったことが「ああそうだったんだ。」と理解できました。いろんな作品を期待する方には不向きです。初心者の方や私のように悩みながら本を片手にがんばっている人には予習、復習の本とDVDで、私には☆５つです。
