I appreciate that each exercise is not covered with finger numbers. For example in the second exercise that has six measures, there is only one finger number in the RH. The next exercise, a length of ten measures, has three finger numbers in the RH. At the top of each page is written what pages the exercise is based on in the Piano Adventures Lesson book. There are pedal marks and dynamics right at the first exercise.Each sight-reading exercise is accompanied by a “do not practice this” reminder. Also every two pages, there is a small written exercise on the page. Such as: name the notes or draw bar lines. At the end of the book is a certificate for the completion of the book.

My daughter switched to Faber's Level 1 books after starting out in Alfred's. She has progressed quickly in the Faber books and they seem to be more of a "click" to her. She's now entering 3A and is enjoying the new books immensely. We really appreciate the variety available at each level, including Popular Repertoire and Christmas songs. The Faber Theory is also more interesting than Notespeller, which is what she used instead for a couple years.

I can never go wrong with these piano books. They have always been great for my students.

Great book to help students advance in sight reading at the piano. Each lesson contains 5 variations of the same song, meant to be played one each day, which allows the student to play with familiarity but not by muscle memory therefore having to learn the notes each day.

It is a very helpful and organized book for students who need to improve their sightreading skill. Highly recommended!
