About Bulova: The beginnings of the Bulova Watch Corporation can be traced to a small jewelry store opened on Maiden Lane in New York City in 1875 by Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old immigrant from Bohemia. In 1911, Bulova began manufacturing boudoir and desk clocks, along with fine pocket watches, which he made and sold in unprecedented numbers. During World War I, wristwatches were issued in the military for their greater convenience. Returning veterans brought them home, and a new fashion was created. In the 1950s, Bulova developed the Accutron, the first electronic watch, which was accurate to keeping time to within two seconds a day. During the 1960s, NASA asked the company to bring its timing expertise to computers for the Space Program. A Bulova timer was placed on the moon's Sea of Tranquility to control the transmissions of vital data through the years.

Devil Diver is stunning
Beautiful, striking, solid.Cannot say enough good about this watch. It is comfortable, attractive, easy to read, and elicits pride of ownership.The orange/red/salmon color is unequaled in appearance and is unquestionably attention gathering. It keeps very accurate time for a self-winding/automatic watch - within 5-7 seconds a day - and is comfortable to wear.Two VERY minor issues - 1) it doesn’t have as great a power reserve as I would expect - it needs more than a little movement every 12-15 hours instead of the 24+ I was expecting; and 2) the luminosity is sadly quite paltry - it is neither strong or long-lasting. These are minor details however, especially given all the other superlatives of this watch.In summary, this is a beautiful, accurate, solid, and unique watch, with excellent value and performance for the price. It has become one of my 2-3 favorite watches for daily wear, and is my go to when I want a watch with a more rugged and noticeable appearance.

Eye catching face
The image in the Amazon listing doesn't do justice to the color of the watch face - it is far more intense and saturated that it appears in the listing photo. It's close to traffic cone orange. The watch (thus far) keeps good time, and is easy to read. The silicone strap is soft and comfortable, and I'm quite happy with the purchase.

The Color is Just Wow!
Recently received my newer Bulova Devil Diver reissue and the looks are definitely just WOW! Its finish and quality is exactly what I expected from lots of research and reviews but the dial color is indescribable. It’s not just any bright vibrant orange, it’s like its own version of pinkish hue of neon deep orange. It literally seems to command folks to ask about it which gives me a reason to tell its story and tell people about my watch collection overall. The half msrp price tag for it is about spot on for the quality, especially one that’s ISO certified. My 821D movement was new enough it is hackable which is an awesome plus. The lume is great! The fit seems to feel smaller than 41mm due to its design. Overall I am extremely happy with this watch and look forward to years of wear and use. If you want a FUN mid/high quality watch that is ISO certified and seems to ask folks to ask you about it this will absolutely be the watch for you.

Five weeks quit working.
Very nice looking watch and comfortable. However, the place I bought it from seemed a little sketchy. Used box and in proper packing. It stopped working yesterday. About about five weeks after I bought it. Can’t even return it now to those clowns that sold it. The outfit was based out of New York. Not happy!
