Legendary lighter (edit, with poor charging port)
First off - incredibly helpful and friendly customer service, would like to say thank you personally to the seller and the customer service folks, absolutely amazing bunch of people. The lighter is epic, being a stoner from Scotland, lighting joints is a pain. But not anymore! Wouldn’t be suitable for a pipe (though I haven’t tried) but is perfect for cigarettes and other similar roll ups.I did get tempted to touch the electric arc - I have done so so you don’t have to, let me tell you now, it really hurts when you stick your finger in the arc! My curiosity won, let yours be settled by this review and don’t touch the bright, arcing electricity hahaha.Charger and box is supplied - charger is short but you do not require a long one as it cannot be used whilst charging. The charging lasts a long time, best to get in the habit of charging it regularly when not in use to avoid a battery problem whilst out and about.Honestly, saved a lot of money buying this as opposed to disposable gas lighters which I’m pretty sure my local store were specifically selling me dud ones as I am cursed with bad lighters, but not anymore.Just bite the bullet and buy this lighter - you won’t regret it. And even if you do run into problems (very unlikely), then the customer service is, in my experience, the best I’ve ever encountered on Amazon. To conclude, amazing lighter, definitely worth it, don’t touch the arc (lol) and an amazing customer service team should any issues arise. When you receive your lighter, you will receive a gift certificate to Amazon after reviewing this product - remember, it does not have to be a 5* review to get the gift voucher, as long as it is honest. Just to let you all aware in case you buy one from this review and you see the card inside he package and you think ‘yooo that guy said that just for the voucher!’ NAY! It is a legitimately good product and an equally good team selling the product.Love you all!Edit: a few months later, both lighters refuse to charge and the connection on the lighter is totally non-responsive. Great product let down by weak charging ports.

Almost...
The idea is fine and in all honesty it works pretty well. A rechargeable electronic lighter, the 4 x electrodes create a good 'flame' and it works every time. Except when it runs out of charge. Which is about twice a day. So battery life I would describe as poor. However, the thing is around 15 quid, which also explains why it's so insubstantial. And that comes as something of a surprise when you you pick it up. It weighs absolutely nothing, but looks like it should. Which is a disappointment but that's what you get for 15 quid. The other description that spring to mind is 'over-designed'. Theres a clip to hold the top down, there's another clip/button to flip the top up and another button to actually operate the thing. Ergonomically it's a disaster. In addition, it's wrapped in 4 x mock-military grade corner guards, so it looks like you could take it to war, 'though I would think twice before taking it camping - unless you have a USB charger to hand at all times. All of which combines to make for some rather awkward faffing around in order to use an electronic lighter which is likely to run out of charge 2 or 3 times a day. It's a shame, the idea is sound, I like it. Maybe the key is to spend a bit more than 15 quid.

Disappointing
This lighter proved to be very disappointing, maybe I had raised expectations based on the description and glowing 5 star reviews?Purchased as I thought it would be far easier and safer than having a can of lighter refill gas in the house, or using disposable lighters, as well as being easy to charge from my laptop.Despite the great claims going on about it's 'Arc' allowing you to light from various directions this proved to be complete and utter crap. The lighter could barely light a cigarette or roll-up even when positioned directly above it, so that it would have a maximum surface area to ignite. You have to be very careful not to break the tiny flat 'Arc' so that it stops working. Even on a full charge the lighter tends to 'splutter' and does not give a continuous strong 'Arc'.Based on it's poor action lighting a cigarette I would have to seriously question the claims made regarding its use when out camping. The lid of the lighter when open does not fold back but remains in a vertical position which would interfere with the lighting process of say a fire or a gas stove as it's difficult to get the 'arc' near enough without the lid being in the way.Waterproof? Yes, but given it is in a rugged looking plastic casing this would be expected, but once open there would be nothing to prevent rain etc. from reaching the Arc points and interfering with the electrodes and preventing it from working, just as with a normal gas lighter. Put any lighter in a sealed plastic bag/casing with a lid and it would become waterproof.Use - This lighter isn't the easiest to use.- unlatch the safety catch- depress the switch to open the lid- press the tiny square button on the top- Hope that you can light whatever you want in 8 seconds or it switches itself off, even with button depressed, as a safety overheating feature.Instructions - Minimal and in the tiniest writing, basically just points out how to open the lighter casing. No explanation regarding the charging of the lighter or what the tiny blue light means, I'm guessing when the blue light goes out it needs charging...No shit Sherlock! I think that would become obvious when it coincided with the lighter not working. There is no indicator to show how much charge is left in the lighter so probably best to fully charge before taking it out the house. *** EDIT: Turns out the BLUE light means it needs charging, just before it is completely discharged the light will begin to flash - then it dies. Light goes out when fully charged. Charging cable is 7.5 inches (19cm) long.***EDIT NOTE: In very tiny writing on the insert card it is stated that the BATTERY LIFE IS ONLY GOOD FOR 300 CHARGES. So if you use it daily and need to charge it daily this lighter won't even last a year.(Explains why there is no mention of being covered by a Guarantee).I'm too lazy to return, so this lighter is now consigned to the 'messy drawer' and will only see the light of day if/when I run out of lighter gas or matches.I recommend you pay a little more for a good quality lighter rather than be subject to the disappointment I have been subjected to.
