Sparks Fly is a high-energy pop rock album, which incorporates many of Cosgrove's influences such as modern hit makers like Gwen Stefani, Beyonce and Lily Allen. The Nickelodeon star co-wrote several songs on Sparks Fly, including the first single, "Kissin U." Miranda Cosgrove co-wrote "Kissin U" with Claude Kelly (Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus) and the song was produced by Dr. Luke (Kelly Clarkson, Ke$ha), whom Cosgrove already greatly admired. All of the songs on Cosgrove's debut album are about boys and first loves, subject matter that's hardly far-fetched - the teen sensation and her friends are "always talking about our relationships and stuff." But Cosgrove's songs also have cross-generational appeal. Tracks like the synth-laden "Bam," the confessional pop smash "Disgusting" and the club banger "Oh Oh" all feature irresistible hooks, and are nearly impossible to forget - no matter how old the listener is.

Great album! This debut album is a must have for any that loves Miranda's singing.
Kissin U is great song, it even introduces the name of the album.BAM is great.Disgusting is fun.Shakespeare is pretty.Hey You is a really sweet song. There Will Be Tears is like a break-up song.Oh Oh is pretty funny with the Oh Oh in there, like the song above.Daydream is great.Brand New You is like saying I'll find a nicer boyfriend who treats me right. What Are You Waiting For? What it saids.Adored is how alot people want to feel in a relationship.Beautiful Mess, well I'm not giving this one away. You'll get it when you hear it.Alot of people should be able to relate to this album. And don't worry Sony didn't do anything to this album, it's standard redbook audio here.

Great CD!
I like most kinds of music, so after liking the iCarly CD (got for theme song), I decided to try this one. It was actually a lot better than I was expecting. The CD varies a good bit so it isn't just one type of music for all the songs, which is always nice. Kissin U sounds much better off the CD then I did on Nickelodeon for some reason =P While no songs really stand out as "6 Stars", most of them are 5 or 4 Star songs. Either way, it makes a nice playlist on my MP3 player and is currently one of my favored playlists.

Sparks Fly Review
I noticed on ICarly that Miranda was singing the opening theme song for the show, so I went onling to see if she was a singer too. What I found was amazing. I've never said this about anyone before but her voice is perfect! I think because of her acting backround she is able to pour her heart into her vocals and the result is amazing. I was riding to work with a co-worker and was playing "Sparks Fly" and he said "Who is that, you don't here good rock music like that anymore" I told him who it was and he said he would order a copy. We're in our fifties and we think her music is great!

good enough simple pop
For the typical target (tween, teen girl, iCarly fan), the album will hit the mark. But for parents forced to listen along in the car, the full album can become grating. I wanted to like it more but only 2 songs were ones I'd buy as singles. Miranda's a good role model with a bright future so I am sure we will hear better things from her as her musical career continues.

miranda cosgrove debut album.
i am a fan of miranda cosgrove, of her TV work on Icarly and i was happy to get her album. its fun to listen to and makes you happy, its for teens of course but as a older fan of hers i find it to be nothing different but she is a good singer and she is popular for a reason. the album is written by other people mostly besides the song, ''kissin you'' but you can tell she has real talent. if your a fan of her's you need to pick this up. it makes you want to dance and sing along, and lyrics that all people can relate to not just teenagers. songs about love and friends. i would listen to this over and over when i got it, and the songs got stuck in my head. one song called ''Shakespeare" is about love and its upbeat and was on the TV show Icarly as well.

Miranda just plain rocks!!!!
I had been waiting for her album to come out for a while and I wasn't disappointed! I can't get the songs "Kissing U" and "Disgusting" out of my head! I did like the ballads and am eagerly awaiting her next album whenever she makes it! I could listen to her sing for hours and hours! I am also eagerly waiting for her to start touring because I would LOVE to see her sing in person! My only wish is that she come to my town on a day that I could go and see her! Great album!!
