A very nice mailbox, I like the large size and the magnetic closure on the door.

My last mailbox from this company lasted less than two years before the side hinge came apart (metal fatigue). I looked at changing brands but opted against it because I didn't want to install a different post. This mailbox did not have a side hinge, so I decided to take a chance on it. No mounting hardware was supplied, but I saved the rusty screw from the previous box and reused them. This box mounted to the same post as the last one and seems to be plenty sturdy. It holds my magnetic numbers as well as the last mailbox did. We'll see if it lasts more than two years.

This sturdy, attractive mailbox is something I am proud to have grace the front of my yard where everyone can see it. Its a little larger than my former mailbox and so much more attractive than that old aluminum standard box! I would have given it 5 stars but for one thing; the flag, when not in the upright position covers the area where my address numbers should be. The numbers need to be on the same side as the flag because anyone driving down the street looking for the address would only see it if it is on the right side (where the flag is). I made do by applying the numbers toward the back of the right side but they would have looked much better in the center of the space for the address. I know the flag needs to be on the right side so the mail carrier can see it when driving down the street. The box could have been engineered so the flag rested above the address space.

Excellent construction and paint job. Has a magnetic latch that works well. If mounting on Gibraltar post hardware I recommend a trial fitting before final assembly. The post installation instructions for a large mailbox were misleading. The mailbox is easy to attach to the Gibraltar fitting of you use the inside the box approach. Also, final installation is much easier with two people and a ratchet wrench to torque the nuts. Very solid and good looking mailbox.

We really like the look and it is very sturdy. We also like the easy close magnetic closure.
