Great all around treat/topper
Been using this for MANY years! Works fantastic as training treats in pocket or a treat bag as it’s dry enough to not get “messy” in your clothes or hands. I use it also as a topper on some dry kibble and sometimes as a quick meal replacement when I’m travelling. Different flavours and sizes to choose from also. Semi dry which makes it super easy to slice and cube. Doesn’t “melt” in your hands either. Can be loosely crumbled up also. I have giant breed dogs and doesn’t require too much to feed as a main diet when needed.

Crack for puppy training
Yes, we call this crack because the dogs tend to lose their mind when I am using these. I use this as a high value training treat. I had to stop using them on the older dog because he couldn't focus or listen to anything while the food was out. So he only gets them when we are working on basics. The puppy doesn't care what you have as long as it's food.So treat training. I use treats to only teach the concept. Once they are reliable with the treats, we take the treats away. They get the idea. They know what is expected with the specific word. Treats are random and they never know when they are going to get them. All they know is that they COULD get the treat or it might be the next time. They never know.I cut them up into bite size treats and store some in the fridge for training times and the rest are in the freezer to be used as needed. The roll does not need to be refrigerated.Wanna get your puppy hooked on crack? Use this...plus it's way cheaper than real crack. Not that I would know. Its just what I've heard in the movies.

I'm tempted to eat it myself
Wow, I can't believe I finally found something my super-finicky Jack Russell/Dachshund mix will eat. Like another reviewer's dog, my pooch was fed Hills Science Diet at the shelter, and I was advised to continue with the same food at home. She wouldn't touch it. So I tried "better" brands - wet and dry - with no "animal by-products" (aka, what's left on the slaughterhouse floor) and with meat listed as the first ingredient, but she still wouldn't eat - until she was practically starving.I was hesitant to try yet another brand of food, because I didn't want to upset her stomach - but she had to eat SOMETHING. I was also hesitant to buy the Redbarn roll because I thought it might be a hassle to prepare - plus I would end up throwing or giving away what was left. I am SO happy I took a chance on this dog food though. It's not a problem to prepare at all - I just saw off a circle - about 3/4" - and then cut that up in little pieces. Rather than sniff at her bowl, turn up her nose, and ignore her food for hours; she scarfs this stuff up, licks her bowl, and then looks at me for more.I can't believe it!I figure if dog food contains ingredients good enough for humans (not that I would eat it, but it DOES smell AWESOME), then I feel comfortable feeding it to my dog. I couldn't be happier - and my pooch gives it two paws up.I'm ordering more to keep in the freezer!

The runs
Our Westie enjoys the beef flavor ok, we add some boiled chicken to bribe her. We are looking for a replacement for the FreshPet rolls which appear to no longer be available. It's been a week now on her new diet and the problem is it makes her poop very runny and messy. By comparison, this food roll is more "cakey/dry" as you slice it than the FreshPet equivalent. Not sure we're going to stick with it given the above but we're happy she eats it. And unlike Freshpet, at least it's available.

A product my dogs love
I had purchased similar brand products like this for years from PetCo and my dogs have always loved it but the brand I've bought for years has either been discontinued or is no longer in production. I found the Redbarn brand and I bought it right away. My dogs love it. It can be cubed, chopped or shredded. It's like a hard salami and although it's called wet food, it's rather dry and crumbles easily. I like to shred it with a shredder and use more as a topper to their kibble. They chomp it down and finish their food every time. It can be used with hard kibble or by itself. Either way, I will continue to buy this product as long as it's available. It lasts a longer than any other wet food as long as it's refrigerated.

It’s anything but natural! Ingredients wise
Of course my dog liked it, she liked 😔 everything 💕. But yikes, those ingredients aren’t anything I’d want to put in my own body. I don’t know what I was thinking reading the advertisement for it but not the ingredients . I ended up not using it except a couple times and tossing the rest..was hard to do, but I had my dog in a wheat and grain free diet, and this would just undo that.

Awesome dogfood!
As far as I can tell...this is top rate dog food. I was happy its made in the USA. I would NOT buy my dog anything made in China, Mexico, or Brazil..to name a few. The low price seemed to make it all most too good to be true... and it's a 4 lb roll. The real perk with this is that my vizsla, Camille, LOVES this food...above all others. She's had California Natural, Merrick, Beyond Grain, Blue Buffalo and several others and she has not like any of them like she does this one...which initially worried me! I though, if she likes it THAT much, it must be bad for her! But I researched EVERY ingredient in the food that I didn't recognize. I won't put ANYTHING into my dog that has any kind of chemicals or preservatives. Well, some preservatives are ok...some aren't. I found every ingredient in this food passed my rather rigorous standards. It's a very large, heavy roll of food (4 pounds!) which last a long time really. They eat around a inch I think 2 times/day, depending on their size. Camille is around 38-40lbs. They eat less of this than commercial dry food because it doesn't have a lot of by-products.If anyone else has any different views on this food...or experiences with this food...PLEASE let me know!!Pam LeachRockland, ME

Dry and crumbly with a horrible smell
My dog would not even try this and I don't blame him - it smells terrible. I bought it to conceal pills and it is extremely dry and crumbles instead of sticking to itself and hiding the small pill. NOT RETURNABLE so thumbs up!
