Better than a hose sticking out of the floor.
Very high quality. Makes for a professional looking ice maker hookup. The shutoff valve is a must.

Went in nicely and did the job
The main thing to know on this is that it's not a very straightforward process. To do it right you really need to have two studs in the wall to attach both sides of the box. Yes, I think you could do it on just one side but it wouldn't be as stable. Now, is anyone going to be behind the fridge to look? Probably not. So if you can get to a single stud without having to pull off a square of drywall, go for it. I opted to take off about an 18" x 24" piece of drywall, carefully with my multitool and was able to replace it and mud it in easily, allowing me to add a vertical mounting stud on the right as well as the one on the left. And it works great. HOWEVER, if you don't have Shark Bite experience, for God sake read the instructions. You can't just stick the Pex or copper up in there. It has to be dressed correctly so the seal is made and you MUST mark it with a depth finder (HD, Lowes, Amazon all have them) so you know for sure you've inserted the tubing far enough into the fitting. One time I failed to do this correctly a few years ago, and let's say the kitchen got really wet. Shark Bites are fine (yeah, I know that's debated hotly online) but not if you don't install them correctly. If this is a first for you, find a YouTube.

Easy, Simple, and Worth it
My kitchen flooring started to bubble from underneath so I knew I had a leak somewhere. Turns out I had a slow leak from the stem of my original outlet box. The price on Amazon was better then home depot by several dollars. What I like best about this is that its a simple on/off ball valve and there is no sweating pipe involved in replacing it. All I had to do was cut the existing piece off using a copper pipe cutter and fit this one over the copper piping. Literally, that's it. I know what you're thinking...does it really work? Is it going to leak? I installed a push-fit similar to this one but for my hot water heater and it works great! One recommendation, when fitting your hose into the discharge, be sure to wrap your threads with teflon tape (make sure you wrap in the same direction that you do when tightening the nut). This will prevent any leaks from the threads. All in all, simply and highly recommend.

Nicer than a line through the floor
I wish it fastened better to the stud so - 1 star, but is a huge improvement over a saddle valve and tube through the floor. Be prepared for some dry wall work, but would buy again.
