Q: Does this oil work in an r12 sys

My understanding is that PAG Oil should only be used for R134 systems. R12 and R134 can use Ester oil. Ester oil is the preferred oil if you are retrofitting an R12 to R134. No PAG in R12 systems.

Q: will this mix with existing oil in system or do i need to flush

Sorry, I don’t really know. I’m a novice and did a DIY job. I did though mix it with whatever existing oil was in the system. I basically guessed after measuring what I poured out of the bad compressor and accumulator. I ended up putting about 6oz of the 8oz the system takes (mostly in the compressor) assuming 2oz may have been else where in the system. All I can say it that the AC has been working great for about a year now.
