Beautiful, comfortable boots.
These are absolutely beautiful boots that, unlike most, are comfortable the first time you put them on. Red Wing quality (Heritage means USA made) brings it all together. You will feel damn good knowing that you got every penny's worth out of these (and every other USA-made Red Wing boot). The only negative, and it's a minor one because I bought these to look good, not work in, is that the sole is not particularly practical for certain conditions. Traction is not that great on flat and/or smooth surfaces, but it will grip very hard on rougher surfaces like asphalt or gravel. All in all, these are perfect for when you want to take your casual style up a notch from wearing Nike or Adidas every day. $220 (I've seen these as low as $170!) is an absolute steal for a boot of this quality and pedigree. I foolishly bought 9s originally which were way too big (I wear a 9.5 in Nike, Jordan, and Puma) due to my disbelief of the fact that I would need a full size less than every shoe I've ever worn. Bought these 8.5s afterward and the fit is about 98% perfect on my left foot, ever so slightly loose on my right foot wearing the toe-capped merino wool socks from Red Wing. I think 8s would be too small for my left foot, so I figure one foot being ever-so-slightly loose and one fitting very well is preferable to one being too small. DO NOT make the same mistake I did and waste your time and gas having to return your new shoes. Buy a FULL SIZE DOWN from your athletic/running shoes and go from there, or better yet, go to a local Red Wing dealer and get fitted. I don't have a real Red Wing store near me so Amazon was my only option. If you have a brick-and-mortar Red Wing store, make use of it! If the price is worse in-store, just take the knowledge you obtained from your fitting and buy with confidence online.

Love them
Well if you want a great looking and long lasting boot you should look into Redwings. I have 1 pair that is almost 20 years old, I did have to get them resoled once though. These chuckas are amazing and only took 1 day to break in! They are expensive but considering how many years you get out of them they are the most economical choice in the end. I bought 4 pair of Redwings thru the years and still own 3. I heard that some of them are no longer made in USA so be sure to get the made in USA ones, I believe that all the Heritage styles are made in USA. They run 1 full size big, as expected. These chuckas are rough out leather so don't try to treat the leather simply brush them off with a horsehair brush when they get dirty!

Great Boots!
Good looking boots. Light weight and comfortable out of the box. I'm not a fan of the cushion insole that comes in these. I prefer the leather footbed that molds to the bottom of your foot over time like other red wing heritage boots, but they are still comfortable, so no need to be petty. The one thing I did not like, but expected from these, is that there were no metal eyelets in the shoelace eyelet holes. The laces will start stretching out the leather eyelets the first time you tie the boots. I can't imagine this adds to the longevity of the boot, I'm sure the leather eyelets will break before anything else on this boot. That being said, I added my own 4mm gun metal eyelets and they look great! Super cheap and easy to do as well! Buy these one full size smaller than what you wear in a regular gym/running shoe. Trust me here this is my 4th pair of red wings heritage and this holds true.

Red Wings=quality
Shoes are excellent! I ordered the recommended shoe size, but ended up returning and ended up ordering a size and a half smaller than I’d normally wear!! Sizes run BIG. I work construction, but I’m in the field and office. These shoes are nice looking for either situation and they look good in casual wear. After getting the right fit, it took maybe 2 days to get them ‘broke’ in. Some reviews mentioned tight across laces, longer period of break in. I did not have these issues. Absolutely love the shoes and highly recommend! Red wings have always been a staple in construction, now they are a staple in my casual wardrobe. *update almost a year and 5 months later-still a solid pair of boots. I wear these 5 days a week 10-12 hrs a day. Sometimes on weekends. A damp rag cleans them up nicely, Each pair of boots gets character as they ‘break’ in. I still get compliments on my choice of footwear. The sole has some wear, but still solid grip and traction. Red Wings are worth the investment for long term pair of boots.

Love the shoes but they will run on the bigger side.
I bought these shoes with working in mind because I don’t really require any toe protection. I wanted a well built shoe that would last and these satisfied that need. I also was pleasantly surprised how much I actually will wear these shoes outside of working in them. I have had my pair for a couple years now and they have held up really well and are still in great condition with pretty heavy use. I would recommend sizing down because they will run on the bigger side. I usually where size 11 shoes and my redwings have a bit of toe space and are size 11 as well; I where thicker socks with them so I didn’t feel the need to replace my pair but when wearing thinner socks it is more noticeable and sometimes makes me wish I had just sized down. Overall these are great shoes if you’re willing to spend the money and they should last you a wile.

Try them on first...
I was really excited about getting these boots and I had high expectations (especially given the price). I loved the style of these weekend chukka's - to me they're an improvement on the looks of the Clark's desert boot. I have a pair of the classic Red Wing Chukka (work boot) and they are the best made boots i've ever had, so I expected the same quality out of these. Sizing: They run large, surprisingly large! All of the reviews said that, so I went a size small. I typically wear a size 12 or 13, depending on the brand of shoe. My size 12 Red Wing Chukka work boots fit absolutely perfectly, so I figure that would work well. I should have gone 11.5 or even 11! I have a good 1.5 inches of room for my toes. The boots have stretched a bit too and now it just feels like my feet are floating in them. Quality: These boots are considerably lighter than the other Red Wing workboots. I would compare these more to the quality of Clark's. The leather is a slightly better quality than Clark's and doesn't take an eternity to break in, but I would say it's thinner. The stitching is great quality on these however. There are no metal shoestring eyelets so it's just lace against leather. Not quite as nice as the workboots. Comfort: This was probably the most disappointing aspect of these boots. I loved the look of the low-profile sole, but let me tell you that thing is thin. These boots include heel inserts to give you a bit of cushion on the heel, but the forefoot and toes receive very little cushion. You can really feel the ground in these guys. I would highly recommend some inserts (superfeet, dr. scholls etc.) if you get these boots. I'm definitely going to continue wearing these, but overall i'm a bit disappointed in these boots. The sizing is like nothing i've seen, the quality doesn't quite match the workboot line, and they're frankly uncomfortable. Oh, and they're $230!!! Way overpriced for what you get. I hope Red Wing can improve on this initial boot because I think the styling is awesome. This boot is the picture of form over function...

Great pair of boots.
I read about these on the Art Of Manliness website, looking for examples of how to dress professional without looking too "victorian," and decided I needed to try them out. I wear a size 10.5 in Nike running shoes, I ordered the 9.5 D in the redwings, and they fit perfectly. I do have a wider foot towards the front of my arch and toes, this is why I can't wear classic converse. These are slightly snug in the vertical, but after a few days of wear, no pain or discomfort, and they fit like a glove. Definitely worth it with this price point, compared to other options.

I just got robbed.
I was exited when I received my shoes. They are very nice and stylish. However, the shoes were coated in white and the leather was dry. So I bought the following: Mink Oil, leather conditioner and Kiwi leather liquid conditioner. After copious amounts of said leather products and taking it to 2 professionals. The leather is dry and cracking. So after taking them out of the box and applying the products I take it the seller would not take them back. So I'm stuck with extremely expensive shoes that I can do nothing with. Buyer be warned.

Perfekter Lederschuh

An upgraded Chukka boot
I bought these boots expecting from other reviews that these would be a bit too big for me. I am 7D on a Brannock device. To my surprise, these boots fit very well. I can say these are much more comfortable than my Clark's Desert Boots and my Allen Edmonds Dundee Chukka Boots. Part of that I believe is the insole that is in these boots. The outsole has not much more traction that a regular rubber crepe sole but it is more comfortable than a leather outsole. I would buy these again in the Tan Suede colourway as well. It also helps these can be re-soled through the Red Wing factory repair program as well.
