This is a gel that dries stiff on wet hair. Once your brush through it loosens up. Much heavier than mousse.

Q: Is this the next generation replacement of the blue bottled KMS styling gel?

I'm not sure, but as previous user of the KMS gel in the blue bottle and because I could no longer find the blue bottle anywhere, I purchased this KMS gel in the gray bottle and I'm very satisfied with the product.
