Color By Number Quest: HEXAGONS (Color Quest Color By Number)

Book is what I have been looking for !

Edited: Originally, I only gave three stars due to how light grey the numbers were. I reordered the book and now find the numbers are large enough for me to see even though they are light. I use the dot method and find the designs turn out very nice.I love this type of book and have quite a few from other authors. The designs themselves are great as is the color palette. However, the numbers are just too light for me to complete the book without glasses or magnification. That isn't relaxing or enjoyable to me.

“Quest” style coloring books, where you start with a set of numbered shapes and no other clues as to what the image is, are probably my all-time favorites, and this is no exception! I love that there is true variety here - instead of a book with a narrow focus on a specific type of animal, etc, each page is something different. I am never bored in what I color or even in trying to figure out what the image is.Every image I’ve colored thus far has come out very clear and complete. Even the backgrounds add so much to the focal point of the picture, making it a true scene. The colors are realistic, yet fun. The same 22 colors are used throughout the book, in the same order, and it is consistent with other books by Kira Shershneva - so once you’ve learned the palate once, you don’t have to continually reference the sheet. The needed colors are listed on the left page (the coloring page is single sided printed on the right), so you can easily pick the colors needed for a specific page right away. It’s also helpful if you feel like doing something with a more limited palate because you can immediately see which pictures require fewer colors.The process is so fun. Some people do all of one color at a time, but I enjoy picking a section and working through that area with the different colors. It’s also fun for friends and family to guess my picture while I am coloring!I used colored pencils and alcohol markers - they both look and work very well! I highly recommend giving this book a try. It’s high-quality, unique, and addictive. You will love the images you discover as you color one hexagon after another. I look forward to what Kira Shershneva will produce next!

Very hard to color. Don’t know what you are coloring ahead of time.
