The 3.0 is quite stiff to open and close. This 2.25 collar only has 5 links on each side of the middle plate so the diameter is only about 12 inches. You can buy extra links individually but they are expensive and the ones I saw don't offer the free shipping. If you need any extra links it is MUCH cheaper to buy an extra collar and then just take it apart for the links as needed...especially if you have a growing dog. **Q: I have a 55lb submissive lab. I like the idea of smaller prongs.
