This is a great looking but if your laptop has a glossy screen ...
This is a great looking but if your laptop has a glossy screen the privacy filter sticks to it without the need of the sticky strips - sounds ok but the filter isn't perfectly flat so you end up with the look of a bubbly badly applied self adhesive screen protector. which is just annoying. The original black 3m had a dull side and a glossy side so the dull side doesn't stick to the screenI have tries anti static spray, and all types to clean it, remove all lint, static etc but it still self sticks to my screen. removed it so many times the sticky strips that are supposed to hold it to the screen are now useless.In short don't buy if you have a nice glossy screen

FIT FOR PURPOSE Screen clear for me, black for train passengers next to me
I've seen others have these same screens for their work laptops, on the train. I could not see their screens at all when sitting beside them. Purchased for my own laptop. When working I can't notice the filter, even with brightness on low.Yet people beside me can't see my screen.Works great!WELL RECOMMENDED!have not tried GOLD VERSION

Works well to stop people being able to see your screen at quite a tight angle (I can't comment on how good it is vs the usual black filter). It does however reduce the quality of your screen a fair bit, and you can see fine diagonal lines across it. It's also very overpriced considering what it is. They also don't seem to do a Surface Pro version of it like they do with the cheaper one.

A must have if you want some privacy while working on your computer in a public place or while travelling
If you've not used one you don't know what you're missing!I now view the privacy filter as essential and have it on my laptop all the time. It's great to keep prying eyes away when you're working on the train or in a public place.It's really easy to fit, and you can remove and replace it as many times as you like, just by lifting it out and slotting it back in place.

Privacy screen and a physical barrier to the display
I use the screen on my ThinkPad X230 and it works well provided no one is standing directly behind you. The screen has two sides - a black colour one and an iridium colour one. It also acts as a physical barrier for people who have a tendency to touch laptop display panels when pointing out data. Recommend it.
