My avalanche experience
This roof rake works exactly as advertised. Rather than pulling the snow off my roof with my traditional roof rake which is hard to do and tiresome, this one is easier. You push the rake up and those snow chunks come sliding off. I love this avalanche roof snow remover but it has just one flaw. I wish it reached longer than 17 feet and I did purchase 8 foot extension poles that actually arrived today a little too late for cleaning my roof but in the future will come in handy.

Works great
Awesome product, little cumbersome for my 5โ2โ 64 yr old self but it does an awesome job. Since we just had a blizzard and 30โ it will get another workout soon. Even my neighbor thinks itโs great. It also works over solar panels just fine.

Works well but super heavy and be mindful of the roof pitch
It works well. I removed about 15" deep snow off my roof with it. The reach is adequate, although still not enough for my application, but I don't think a longer stick would make it more effective. The main problem is the weight - it is very heavy to move around, and the weight at the end of an extra long stick makes it very challenging to operate even for fairly strong person. VERY tiring work. Unfortunately, I don't think that the manufacturer could have done anything about that; just noting it for the buyers. Also, if you have a two-story home and a low-pitch roof, you will most likely need a big A-frame ladder or you simply won't get the angle needed to remove anything from your roof.

if you want snow off your roof - get this.
thought it might be a gimmick, but desperately needed to get snow off my roof. Works great - need to use while snow is relatively fresh. IE if it has crusted over, the device won't get under the snow. Did my roof in about 1/3 of the time.

I'm Sure It's a Wonderful Product
LOL, I'm sure it does a good job but the box was a bit heavy bringing it into the house after it was delivered. So it seems sturdy enough, I'm the one who isn't sturdy! I thought that if I could barely lift the box how am I going to clean the roof with it? You gotta lift that thing to the roof! I'm a 74 yo female, you tend to be delusional about your strength at times!

Very easy and durable.
Fantastic roof rake and the tarp and metal bracket take a beating and keep on sliding the snow off. In upstate NY we have 3-4 feet of snow on the ground every winter. So at age 72 being able to easily romove snow is a must. I was able to remove 1-2 feet of snow with each swipe, from the ground. And the whole house only took an hour. I highly recomend this roof rack.

Might work for fresh powder but forget it for any level of heavy or hardened snow pack
So doesn't really work unless the snow is fresh powder, tried using it to remove snow that had been on the roof for a few weeks and it just wouldn't cut it, the fiberglass poles ended up splitting in extreme cold temperatures so really found this to be more of a gimmick than a useful product.

works well.
Very good for removing snow from your roof, pole extends and rake goes into snow and slides down the plastic. My husband had the snow off the roof in no time and said how well it worked.

Received early which was a nice surprise. This is my second Avalanche and they work great. Do not get fooled by the look a like and want to be that say they are just as good. If want something the saves your back and roof go with the original, you will glad you did. I made the mistake once glade that I went back to the Avalanche!

Worked okay until it didn't only used it once. Plastic y piece that holds the arms to the pole broke first use. The head is also very heavy which causes the pole to bend quite a bit. The pole has a smooth finish. Once it and your gloves are wet it becomes very combersome and tough on the forearms to keep a good grip. I think the wheels are a useless gimmick. They didnt touch my roof once as there is no way to get under the layer of snow closest to your roof surface so you will always be sliding on top of that snow that is left behind. Should be removed as they just provide more resistance when you are trying to push the head through the snow. If you get everything lined up, the tarp laying flat with a solid grip it can work. But durability is an issue and the longer I used it the more the issues started to present themselves. If the y piece didn't break the first use I would still question its ability to survive 1 season.

Was hesitant to buy another snow removal product, however after watching the video I thought I would try it out. It was delivered on time and easy to put together. I am a 58 year old female and had no issues using this product. Love it, it's easy to use and would recommend purchasing this.
