I use it as a fastener
There is a certain product I deal with professionally and I install this product. For decades the manufacturer supplied some wire like this with each unit to faciliate the installation. I did not know at the time it was called armature wire. Later they stopped supplying the wire and switched to different installation methods which I found to be inferior, so I sought out a source of the "hyperflex wire". I found Ook aluminum wire at the hardware store. Nice packaging, but the wire broke much too easily after just a little twisting. Finally with research I figured out the thing I needed was called sculptor's armature wire. Found the Amazon listings for Jack Richeson, and the 1/16" seemed about right. Received the product and yes, this is the wire I used to get and the same size. Torture tested it, it performs beautifully. It vastly outperforms the Ook product. I doubt there is a better quality wire of this type.

Good quality and value
I bought the wire to use as support for when modeling with clay. I needed something thicker than most of the jewelry wire I saw in craft stores. This came with a great amount for the money and was easy to bend and work with using my bare hands.

Good product
I use this wire for armature puppets in Stop Motion projects. Very good product. However, you must consider which seller you choose to purchase this wire. The first time I ordered, I did from fineartstore. I ordered 10 pcs. and I have to pay about $8 for S&H. 2 months later, I ordered 10 more pcs., but this time from CreateArt (I thought it was the same fineartstore) and with this company (CreateArt), I have to pay $40 (yes, $40) for S&H. I paid more for S&H than for the product itself. I e-mail for a reclamation and explanation, and they made a credit for $10 (anyway, $30 for S&H is still expensive). I e-mail again to thank the credit, but next time I need to restock, I going to order it from fineartstore.[...]

Good for building supports for clay
Wire works well as armature for my sculptures, but if you are using white clay be aware that there is some kind of gray residue that comes off of this wire looks like dust or soot and can stain your clay. Would be best advised if using white clay that you wipe the wire section you are using with a cloth before handling. Otherwise holds shapes well and is easy to adjust. Good for lighter clays.

Great polymer/paper fiber armature wire.
I decided to save a few bucks and try this wire out- usually I use stainless. However, I was very pleased with how easy this wire is to work with and how strong it is, considering you can easily bend/form it without tools. I liked it so much, I've bought this again. Great wire for small pieces on a cold or extremely low temp sculpt (like polymer or paper fiber).

Nice Sturdy Wire, works great!
I use this mostly to make clay sculptures. It's easy to bend and cut, works great for what I need. I've also used thinner gauges of the same wire for wire wrapped jewelry that has come out well!

Great all around
This a great product. It is made with quality materiais and has — to me — just the right flexibility. It can greatly help sculpturs, while also being suitable to a variety of other uses.

Works great for many uses!
I’d never heard of armature wire until my son needed some in college for his stop-motion animation puppets. It turns out that it’s very important for good results and it turns out that this wire was just what my son’s professor used! Since then, it’s been used successfully for multiple projects!
