BUT You must read the instructions!The REL button zeros whatever function you are going to use.So for instance if you’re going to check AC current (Amps), select 60 A then use the SEL button to select AC on the display. You’ll probably see a random number on the display so press REL to zero it. Once it says zero (or a very small number) clamp it on the hot wire of your circuit. Remember the clamp-on only works when you clamp onto JUST the hot wire.I’ve tested all of the functions and they all worked well. I had to zero a couple of them first but that’s not a bad trade-off since all functions are auto-ranging.The NCV was about the right sensitivity and allowed me to determine which slot of an outlet was connected to hot.TruRms is excellent as well. If you’re measuring the AC output of a generator or inverter it will show you the real info. If you don’t know why TruRms is important Google it.For the price, it’s quite a good value. Comes with probes and a nice case. Battery compartment is held closed with a screw so if you drop it it will stay closed. Beeper for continuity is nice. It blinks the led too if you’re hard of hearing or in a noisy place. AAA batteries are a plus. The 9v’s are SO expensive now and it has auto power off (which can be disabled - READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!). The best of both worlds.

I am commenting on the ''BTMETER BT-7200B'' I compared it another Sears Craftsman meter. For DC current the BTMETER BT-7200B was within 10% of the Craftsman. This is acceptable considering they are just measuring the magnetic field. The DC voltage is better than 5% accurate. The AC voltage seems accurate as well. However the Frequency measurement on the BTMETER BT-7200B is nearly useless. for 60 Hz AC the BT meter measured 60.03 Hz & then freaked out and went into over range. On a pure-sine inverter the BTMETER BT-7200B measured 119 Hz, while the craftsman only measured the fundamental at 59.9 Hz on the inverter & nailed the line frequency at 60 Hz. I will likely keep it since my main purpose is to get an idea of DC current. The backlit display on the BTMETER BT-7200B is very helpful.

The Bluetooth capability on this really made it useful for checking out my car's electrical draws and charging. I could clamp it onto the negative battery cable and get measurements of various electric circuit draws while sitting in the car and turning things on and off while looking at my phone. There is a small "Minus sign" in the display, and it will be on when current flows one way, and not one when current flows the other way. So you can tell if the current is going into or out of the battery. I have IN/OUT tests with a regular meter and that's much more cumbersome than using this meter with the clamp and phone display. The results of this meter compared to my series meter show very close agreement.At least one reviewer complained it has no backlight. It does, it's the same button as the HOLD button. You tap the hold button quickly and that turns on the "hold" function. If you hold the hold button down for 2 seconds it turns the backlight on and off.Many of us don't read instructions. Before I read them I thought it was not reading quite right when reading amps because it always had a residual reading. Then I read the instructions which say after setting it to the AMPs scale you need to zero it out with the REL button. Worked like a charm. Clamp it in place while the equipment is off, press REL to zero it, then do your measurements. If you can't turn the equipment off you can zero it before connecting it but you will wind up with a small residual after clamping it. You can figure it out and subtract it by taking two readings. Clamp it on, take a reading, the unclamp and rotate the meter 180 degrees and reclamp it on and take second reading. Average the two readings and you will have removed the residual.I also made a quick comparison of the temperature probe results and by eyeball compared to other thermometers it seemed pretty close. Also note that it has an internal temperature sensor which will tell you the temperature inside the meter. Useful if you leave the meter without touching it till it is the same temperature as the "room". When you plug in the external temperature probe it automatically switches to reading the external probe. Unplug and it switches back to internal.

I needed a remote (BT or WiFi) digital multimeter and the BTMETER BT-7200APP met all my requirements plus it had clamp-on ammeter. I compared it first to my Fluke 365 clamp on and compared measurement and the BT-7200APP was spot on... less than 5% deviation from the Fluke. Then I compared the DMM functions to my Fluke 87 and here too, the differences were minor. I was quite surprised by the build quality, it is comfortably hefty, great feel and the workmanship seems as excellent as my several Fluke meters. The remote app for my iPhone was easy to install and worked flawlessly right away. Can be used for datalogging. If it holds up to day to day use then this by far is a Winner !!

Whether you are checking temperature, voltage, or current remotely this is an excellent device for that.

Multimeter sind wie Akkuschrauber, man kann immer noch Einen mehr gebrauchen , da man den "Anderen" gerade nicht findet... So geht es zumindest mir - oder ist das doch meinem Chaos geschuldet :)Scherz beiseite, ja, ich besitze mehrere Multimeter, von ganz alt bis jetzt Einem- inkl. Daten-App und Export-Funktion. Braucht man das wirklich? Zumindest wollte ich es mal testen, denn auch wenn ich kein Elektriker bin, "selber machen" steht bei mir immer ganz oben auf der Liste und gerade bei Solar und Batterien ist es sehr interessant wie sich denn was so verhält.Natürlich wird das (auch bei mir) vom Solarsystem selber überwacht, aber gerade beim Einrichten und ggf. kalibrieren ist eine "2.(Daten)Meinung" sicherlich hilfreich :)Zum Gerät selber: Das BT-Meter kommt unauffällig in einem Karton daher, der wie bei vielen Artikeln aus China möglichst keine Marke aufgedruckt hat, sondern nachträglich mit einem "Markenaufkleber" versehen ist. Vergleicht man das Gerät mit vielen seiner "Stammesbrüder" die auch angeboten werden, fällt eben auch genau das auf, mal eine Farbiger Drehknopf mal ein grauer oder schwarzer, aber sonst optisch (und Werte-technisch) scheinbar eine große Produktion mit vielen Vertreibern.Das macht es schwer sicher- oder festzustellen ob man das Original, oder B- oder C-Ware erhält, aber in aller Fairness muss ich sagen - das Gerät selber ist solide, gut verarbeitet und bringt keinen Eigengeruch mit. Die Messleitungen sind lang genug und mit feinen langen Spitzen ausgestattet, die auch Endkappen besitzen. Ich habe für ähnliches Geld schon schlechtere Ware gesehen.Natürlich kommt eine Anleitung mit, die jedes einzelne Funktion (auch in brauchbarem Deutsch) erklärt, aber darauf gehe ich jetzt im Einzelnen nicht ein. Die Kurzanleitung zum Installieren der App ist allerdings nur in Englisch, wobei - QR-Code scannen und der Rest erklärt sich eigentlich von selbst.Allerdings ist die APP, respektive die Verbindung etwas wählerisch, zumindest bei mir konnte die Verbindung nicht immer hergestellt werden, allerdings konnten ich auch keinen Grund dafür ausmachen, da die App - wie im Bild ersichtlich - das Gerät erkennt, aber einfach manchmal nicht verbinden will.Wenn die App das Gerät erkennt werden die Daten vom Multimeter dargestellt und je nach eingestelltem Scan-Intervall in der App gespeichert. Das ist tatsächlich hilfreich, wenn man längere Messungen vornehmen und später auswerten will, da man die Daten in ein Excel-file exportieren kann.Generell hat die App sehr viele Einstellmöglichkeiten, die tatsächlich auch in verständliches Deutsch übersetzt sind, aber die ich jetzt hier nicht im EInzelnen erklären werde.Wie schon gesagt habe ich mehrere Multimeter und was tatsächlich auffällt ist, misst man z.B. ein und dieselbe Batterie, bekommt man u.U. mehrere "Meinungen". Was ich damit sagen will, zwischen elektronischer "shunt"-Messung (Solarsystem), Inverter-.Anzeige und 3 verschiedenen Multimetern weiß man am Schluss tatsächlich nicht welches der Geräte "richtig" misst.Nicht falsch verstehen, wir reden von geringen Abweichungen (max. 0,3V bei +/- 53V) und es geht auch nicht darum die Qualität des BT-Meters in Frage zu stellen - mehr um die Frage- sollten nicht alle Multimeter einheitlich anzeigen? Die Frage kann dann wohl eher nur ein Elektriker beantworten.Grundsätzlich bietet das BT-Meter erst mal alle Funktionen (und mehr) die Hobby-Elektriker brauchen, inkl. der Zangen-Strommessung für höhere Ströme, die allerdings lt. Anleitung nur bei Wechselstrom funktionieren soll. Völlig ignorant ausprobiert zeigt das Zangen-Amperemeter allerdings auch Werte an wenn man den Gleichstrom der Solarbatterie messen will - allerdings sind die Werte dann "interpretationswürdig" - sprich ohne Vergleichsangabe durch z.B. den Shunt nicht verwertbar. Hat man Vergleichswerte kann man die Relation sehen, aber das hilft leider nicht wenn man messen will. Also ja, es geht anscheinend nur Wechselstrom (was physikalisch ja auch Sinn macht).Es macht aus meiner Sicht hier wenig Sinn alle Angabe des Anbieter zu wiederholen, aber soweit ich testen konnte funktioniert alles sehr gut - messtechnisch kann ich die Angaben nicht verifizieren.Von der Handhabung her ist das Gerät intuitiv und lässt von Mini-Taschenlampe bis Beleuchtung des Displays keine Wünsche offen.Insgesamt ist BT-Multimeter damit ein kleines Allround-tool was für den Preis definitiv für den Hausgebrauch i.O. ist und daher meine volle Empfehlung bekommt. 4 Sterne aktuell nur deswegen, weil ich die zickige App nicht konsequent zum Laufen bekommen habe.
