Three Million National Best-Seller. A simple clear explanation of how and why the principles introduced in Prison to Praise work in every-day life. Readers often say. "Now I understand how to make praise work in my own life!" Review: Surrender to the Lord - This is a very encouraging book with many wonderful stories of the Lord's bounty backed up with relevant quotes from the Bible. Why do we have such difficulty believing the Lord loves us? We have to learn to trust The Lord after learning the lesson of this world where people let us down and we in turn let people and more importantly God down. In spite of all that The Lord does for us we are embroiled with the cares and thorns of this world and forget we have such an amazing loving caring almighty God who really does care. He is Almighty so He can help us. He is all wise so he knows how to help us and He is all loving so He helps us out of His great Love. We have to pray for the grace to receive His love instead of floundering in our own pride and sin. Look at Jesus not at the problem. God bless you and thank you for reminding me of my loving Father Review: Potentally a life changing book - Merlin Carothers systematically demonstrates how Christians should believe that God is moving in their lives in all the things that happen to them, whether they appear to be good or bad at the surface level. He goes on to show that if we believe that God is with us and offer praise, even in adverse circumstances, that we will come to understand exactly why things have happened the way they have. Added to this, following the pattern of believing and offering praise and thanksgiving, he shows that people often experience real joy in their lives and healing both physically and psychologically. The book reiterates much of what he has to say in his earlier work "Prison to Praise", but if anything, it is presented in a more organised way. It will test the faith of some people, but it is perhaps to these that it has the most to say.

A Great Little Book.
I've read this book many times and each time it has helped me so much. It has helped me praise God even though at this time I'm going through the most difficult time of my life. I've started to praise God FOR the situation I'm in I'm more more at peace knowing that if God has allowed it then it's because He has a wonderful plan for my life so I can trust Him completely. I've recommended this book to a friend and she's bought it for herself. Thank you Merlin Carothers.

Power in praise
Over the years I have read and re-read this book.I have lent it to friends, until it is falling apart. I was delighted to find it available on kindle now, because my other book won't last much longer. Merlin Carothers teaching on praising God in every situation has revolutionised my spiritual life. Everything in us rebels at the thought of praising God in every situation. But then we also rebel at the thought that salvation is free and can't be earned. And of loving our enemies. And of doing good to those who mistreat us. The Christian life is about doing things Gods way, not ours. Some of the examples given of the results of praise seem to be far fetched. But we a God of miracles. And Gods way nearly always causes us to reject it at first, because to our human reasoning it seems illogical. But Gods ways are higher than our ways. And His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. And He knows what He says is for our good. Try practising what this book teaches, even if it seems strange at first. You'll be greatly blessed.

Inspriational
Revisiting an old favourite from many years ago and being blessed out of my socks with the familiar truths coming back to remind me how far I have drifted away from these principles that are so life changing. Applying these biblical truths has lifted me higher spiritually and in my trust in the Lord than I was before, and now I feel like I am soaring on eagles wings in trust and surrender. Be joyful in affliction brothers and sisters in Christ - through praising God FOR everything! Be blessed!

Inspirational
I loved this book. Having read Prison to Praise and got so much from it, I didn't expect to get as much from Power in Praise, but I was so wrong. I have read it twice now... the first time I borrowed it from friend, but I decided I wanted my own copy and after reading it a second time I was amazed at the different things I took away from it this time. A definite must

Great Older Book Just As Relevant Today
Great older book I had read years ago when it first came out. The book still holds true today. Happy with purchase. And if I wasn't, I would still praise God for having bought it. Oops, kind of gave a spoiler alert.

AMAZING AND INSTINCTIVELY TRUE!
I read two pages and KNEW that this was the missing link! I couldn’t stop reading it and will read more of these. Prison to Praise is next . We are used to the habit of thanking the Lord for the good things only . Yet, we can be grateful for our trials and tribulations . They teach us so much and strengthen us . I’ve begun , and feel confident that J will see improvements in all area of my life and my families

Power in Praise
This is one of my favorite books! I just gave this book to my grandaughter along with a story to prove the point. Here is the story:A Story to Remember.... "In Everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you".... I Thessalonians 5:18 This story could very well have been in your book, Power In Praise, one of my most cherished books. It is an amazing story of how God directs our lives even when we don't have a clue that He is calling all the shots and always for our own good. Your dad was a little boy about the age that he is in this photograph. Our friends, the Olsens were with us and we had just put up the tipi on the ranch and we were having smores. It was Thanksgiving night, and we had a fire going in the tipi. There was snow on the ground but we were warm as toast. Everything was going okay until Davey Olsen accidently poked your dad in the eye with the pointed end of his smores stick. Dan cried just a little bit, but then it was over... We thought it was over, that is, but it was only the beginning.... A few days later, your dad was in a swimming class at the Spa Motel, and one of the other little boys accidentally came up from under the water and hit your dad hard under his chin. It was a good hit so much so that it jammed his front teeth right up into his gums. That hurt, and that night we could tell that Dan was still really agitated, and not himself. He kept complaining about his teeth hurting, but finally he went to sleep. There was a blizzard that night and we felt that there was nothing we could do until the morning. Nothing we could do, that is. At about 12 midnight, Macey, your dad woke us up and was crying and crying....he got in the bed with us, and he kept saying..."my teeth, my teeth", and big tears were running down his face. Your grand dad David put some ice on his upper lip and gave him some baby aspirin. But NOTHING seemed to help. He just kept crying with those big tears streaming down his face. I got up and went into the living room several times that night to kneel down and pray for Dan. I knew that God had said to "give thanks in everything" but that was really hard to do when my little boy was hurting so. Finally, at about 6 AM, I knelt down in the living room once more and cried out to God. "Oh, God, with my heart I cannot thank You for this BUT, (I finally came to it.....) BUT with my MIND I WILL THANK YOU....I will, dear Lord, I will thank you." That was the hardest prayer I ever prayed. And I went back to bed. In a few minutes, Dan, still crying, said, "My eye, my eye!", and I said, "What? Your eye?" And we turned on the light, and Macey, there among all those tears were little pieces of sticks..not splinters, but little pieces, about 1/8" square on his cheek..coming from his eye. I am sitting here crying again. I will never forget that as long as I live! And, the amazing thing is that the moment that all those little sticks were out of his eye.....Dan stopped crying..immediately..nothing hurt anymore, and later the dentist said that his teeth were okay...he was good to go! God had to allow all those tears to wash those little sticks out. Later the doctor said that apparently those sticks had jammed way back into his skull, and could have caused some major problems later on if God had not stepped in and washed them out. No one else knew they were there. God knew and He handled it. Thanking God for everything became crystal clear to all of us. We could not then nor can we now see into the future...but God sees and knows the future. And we can trust God's view every time....100% of the time... "In Everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you!"
