Rokinon14mm F2.8 Full Frame Auto Focus Wide Angle Weatherproof Lens for Nikon (IO14AF-N)

I love ultra wide angle photography, and until now I only had a 180 degree fish eye for my D750. I could use 12mm equivalents on my D7100, but this is a much better rectilinear solution.The image quality is good wide open (unless the sun is in frame), better around f4-5.6 and great at f8. Colors look great (again as long as there's no sun in the frame) and contrast is very good. Micro contrast is not like my Zeiss 12mm (for my cropped sensor Fujifilm cameras), but it's comparable to (and better than) my Sigma 8-16mm (for my cropped sensor Nikon). As I've alluded to, the issue is bright light. This lens is poor with the sun in the frame. Loads of flare washes out everything. It's usable if you shoot raw and can pull down highlights, but you'll always be struggling. Build is amazing and AF is very good (the focal length is rather forgiving with a large DOF).For the price, it's not unexpected to have issues with flare. A more advanced design and superior coatings would resolve those flare issues, but I'd rather have this for half the cost. If you want to save even more, you can also look at MF 14mm lenses (manually focusing an ultra wide isn't much of an issue.Highly recommended for photographers looking for a rectilinear ultra wide who can work around the sun.

The relationship between price and quality of this lens is unbeatable. There aren't many affordable wide-angle options for Full Frame Mirrorless. This is an excellent option, the quality, weight and size are excellent. I use it with Nikon Z7. I highly recommend it.
