This really helped me teach my daughter fractions during quarantine since she was bored with what she was learning in school anyway. I had no idea how to approach the subject and the book helped to guide me. I wish there were more example problems though.

It was a gift but they love!! More people need to know these neat very educational books are out there!! I think any way!!!😏

The authors went into schools and worked with teachers and students to understand how to help students of all ages learn to operate with fractions. What they learned is shared with examples of student work, suggestions for how to begin, common issues you can expect and tips for helping students of all ages. If you have students that can't "do" fractions, if you teach 3rd grade or higher, or if you're a principal at a school with low math scores you need to read this book. You'll not look at fraction teaching and learning the same way after reading this book.

Best book for teaching fractions at any age. I recommend this book and often buy it as a gift for fellow math educators.

I am a third grade teacher and wanted to have a deeper understanding of fractions. This book is AWESOME!! It describes how students develope fraction understanding. It gives you the best way to start introducing them and to continue digging deeper. I love how there are leveled example problems of each type.Students are not memorizing tricks (like cross multiply). They learn to show and explain their thinking in several ways. A common core book!I keep hoping these authors come out with another book because I would certainly purchase it :)

This is an excellent book for all of us to study as we teach fractions to our students K-and on. I wish we had this as one of our texts in math methods in college. There is explicit language for strategies. There are many problems ready to use for all grade levels. It really does "address the urgent need to help teachers understand and teach fraction concepts" (from book jacket). I like the book it was very specific great examples problems to use moving forward. This book was used for my online classes for math.

Amazing information in this book. Gives examples and step-by-step student aquisitions along with sample lessons through out. This is a must My students are finally getting fractions!

As an educator, teaching fractions is the hardest component of mathematics. It is an area that even adults cringe a cower in the corner. What this book does is give you a solid perspective on teaching fractions. If you want to learn more about them and how to help students this is the book for you.
