Works perfect.
Easiest way to wire in a generator for my application.

Great product! Easy to use, electrician really liked it!
I bought this product and hired an electrician to install it in front of my house's electrical panel. This made it so I didn't have to rewire a select few circuits into a transfer switch and I can power my entire panel off of my generator while still cutting power to the main lines. The 100 amp breaker in this panel essentially replaces the 100 amp breaker in my main panel as my main turn off for the house. Though that 100amp breaker is still there as well. When I flip the switch to the 60 amp side, it powers my entire panel off of the generator that is back feeding in through an exterior outlet. This product prevents both the generators dedicated outlet and the mainline from being able to simultaneously provide power to the main panel. I get to choose the commercial main or my dedicated outlet.I have used it multiple times now through outages of the main power and it works great. This allows me to power 240v applications (such as a Well pump) that are hardwired into my panel instead of having a seperate plug I can run into the generator.Great product, super simple, and cheaper then a true transfer switch. My electrician and power company approved the install as acceptable.

Did the trick!
Price a bit high, no other issues.

Overpriced but adequate for the job
This unit is mediocre. I think it's overpriced when one considers it's really just a two-breaker panel with two breakers - a 60 AMP and a 100 AMP.The most irritating part of this is the lack of an isolated ground bar. There is a single bus bar for ground/common, but this should almost never be done because the NEC rules apparently say that common and ground should only be connected at the main service panel. Therefore, to install this properly, one needs to buy an additional bus bar. The most affordable option is to purchase a new GROUND bar that can screw right to the back of the box, then use the existing bar for common since it appears to be insulated from the box. However, don't take my advice on any of this but seek a professional, licensed electrician to evaluate your situation.A small irritant I found is that if one reverses the position of the breakers, the cover doesn't fit. You can either flip the whole box upside down if you need/want a breaker on a given side, or you have to carefully pull the labels off the sides and switch them . I suppose that indicates that the positioning within the box isn't exactly symmetrical. It was more of an annoyance. Another irritant for persnickety persons like myself was the color of this box which deviates from the gray color used in many other panels. Silly, I know, but I'd prefer a gray panel. Perhaps this is intentional so that it's not confused for a sub-panel?Aside from the above, there was at least adequate space for wiring - all of which I did with #4 and #6 AWG wire which is very think and inflexible.

Very Reliable
Have this unit installed since 2012 and it has been working fantastic. Very easy to switch small generator over when utility power fails. :-)

Smooth transition between systems
This dual pole transfer switch is great. Used it as part of an off grid system to switch from solar to generator without going outside. Was able to set it up to switch the neutrals also. Install was straightforward, and once installed I found there's no lag when changing over, so it doesn't reset TV or internet, etc. Definitely recommend.

No neutral switch
You need to know that this unit is not immediately suitable for UL approved portable generators. Although you should consult an electrician on this, you should know that ground an neutral should not be connected anywhere but one location (usually your main panel). If your generator (like my Generac GP8000) has the neutral bonded to ground, you must either disconnect it or switch it. Note that most transfer panels don't switch the neutral. That being said, with the generator modified, this unit got the job done. I used it in series with a power meter to monitor the power draw on the generator when I turned on each circuit. The neutral bus that came with the equipment is isolated from ground (as it should be), and the lugs were all big enough for the 2-2-2-4 wire used to feed the 100A from the main panel and to the sub-panel. The unit did not come with a ground bar and the standard ones and big box outlets are not a great match. All in all, it is a well built unit. Its not as good as Square-D or some other units, but the price is unbeatable.

Low cost, reliable solution
The transfer switch is very sturdy and well built, however I have two issues with the device. First, although the utility and the generator pair of breakers are clearly identified, it is not obvious what the source of power is, unless you read the indistinct 'On/Off' markings on the breakers themselves. Perhaps a pointer attached to the mechanical interlocking device and combined with proper labeling can remedy the situation. The other objection is a lack of a bus or lug for connecting the neutral wires. Nevertheless the skilful electrician can easily solve this problem. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the product since it delivers a great value for a low price.

Very good transfer switch for generator.
It does the job but the sizing is very large (they could have made the panel about 50% smaller). If not for the size I could have give it a 5 star.

Totally SAFE Transfer Switch
Likes: Easy installation; box is large enough to easily accommodate routing of wires (number 6 aluminum or number 4 copper.) Lots of knockouts, and good quality switches.Dislike: mid size knockouts need to be done carefully to not knock out next larger ring. Use flat screwdriver to lever out unattached ends of knockout, bend these parallel to each other with pliers, then rocker them up and down until the knockout snaps off. Hammer and big screwdriver force will take out all rings of knockout...

Generator panel is only to separate the generator from the utility.
It is easy to install but not too easy to get the wires in place. There is no place for extra breakers. Also the signs for the feed "Utility" or "Generator" would be more appropriate to place to the correspondingbreaker's "on position"

fits the purpose
I would say that this does not meet Ontario, Canada electrical code, you need a 3 pole switch for that.White neutral must also be switched so no chance of feed back through the neutral line when on alternate power. talk to your electrician if in doubt. I'm using mine in Mexico so not an issue.

Great price
This is a great transfer switch for the price it has push in breakers so it’s a little bit of a stickler to get the 100 A side dressed in and get the breakers not to pop off but for the price it’s doable
