It arrived locked. I hear a rattling sound, i'm guessing that's the accessories and keys inside of it... I plugged it in to charge it, no change. No instructions, no way to contact anyone for support, so it's going back.update: i was able to get it open. The round lock has no security at all, so if you just take a small screwdriver that fits into the arrow imprinted on the barrel, you can turn it and unlock it without the key.From there, the key control still didn't work. I tried a different USB C charger, and presto, the green light on the front lit up and it started to charge. Now any finger print will open it. So, it seems that plugging it in is the key to opening it if it arrives locked, it just wasn't compatible with the charger i first used.updating the rating to 3 stars, it's a solid "meh". If you're looking for something with real security, like for a gun, you should probably skip this one...

I am only giving it one star because zero wasn’t an option. I don’t know if this terrible piece of junk offends me more as a woodworker or a gun owner. For starters, it is not walnut as advertised. It is a very cheap, thin veneer covering what I assume is a super cheap particleboard. The hinges are low quality and the screws were all stripped or missing when it arrived. The fingerprint lock is an absolute joke! It opened in response to my dog’s nose when he sniffed it and all it takes to defeat the lock is some gentle pressure on the lid, the mechanism providing all the security of an empty coke can. If you replaced the crappy lock with a regular latch and the foam inside with some Spanish cedar, you might be able to use it for a cheap humidor, but otherwise it is completely worthless. And seriously, DO NOT TRUST THIS TO SECURE YOUR FIREARM IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR KIDS ALIVE! It would be much safer to just drop your loaded pistol directly into their toy box rather then trusting this thing to keep it out of their little hands... and I am not at all kidding about that. This is an unsafe item to use for securing your gun, a poorly crafted piece of garbage that wouldn’t pass a high school shop midterm as a box in general, and it will spend less than 24 hours in my home before I mail it back to the rip-off heaven from whence it came. EPIC FAIL!!!

Looks good and as expected...Takes 2 or 3 attempts before the biometric realizes it's supposed to be scanning and the beep it makes when unlocking is significant...Also the padded lining on the top didn't fit the mold but with a sharp exacto knife you can solve that problem easily.I gave it 3 stars because it works... but not 4 or 5 star effective

I thought the setup was pretty easy. The fingerprint scanner works flawlessly so far. The wood construction looks nice as well. It should blend in well on a book shelf.

Horrible! Does not work!

Seems sturdy! Does take a few tries to unlock sometime- but looks great and keeps the guns safe.

Can't figure out finger safe but all in all good buy.

We could not get the fingerprint function to work, but the seller provided great customer service, responding right away with a refund. Thanks!
