GIGAPHONE G100 Portable Voice Amplifier [30W] with Microphone

I used this for socially distanced and masked rehearsals in a park. I was concerned that having even more wires and straps would be an issue, but I quickly forgot I was wearing it. I was able to communicate clearly and with much less effort. Having the speaker on my person helped my singers/actors to know where I was and when I was addressing them as we moved around. I tried it with the mic both inside and outside the mask. Both worked, and I adjusted according to what we were doing. Sound quality was fine. There’s a faint hiss. The unit was easily accessed and operated in my pocket, on my belt, or on the strap, so I could switch to a more private conversation quickly—just turn the volume down. Battery life was excellent.The mic is connected to the unit via a wire. This means the unit has to stay on you, but I had no issues with wire tangles and the weight of the unit didn’t bother me. I was moving around a fair amount and didn’t have any trouble with the head/neck set or the speaker unit bouncing around.

The voice amplifier I ordered came well packed and exactly as advertised. Works great. Gigaphone went above and beyond to assist me with picking the best lavalier mic to go with the amplifier, being very patient and understanding. After trying out the zoweetek 10watt unit (students gave it a unanimous thumbs down for volume), and further Extensive research, I chose this G100S gigaphone model based on Amazon and Tech mag reviews. Sound clarity is clear inside my classroom, but doesn't seem to carry/extend quite as far as I'd hoped outside.I try to maintain distance between the mic around my neck from the unit clipped on my purse, but several times a day it suddenly squawks when I turn or sit down. I remind my students that it hurts my ears as much as theirs! LoLHaven't figured out how to prevent that yet. Still experimenting . . .Will update this review with more usage data after testing outside during class relay races.Overall I give it 4.5 Stars, paid $148 + $29.99 4-year asurion insurance plan.

I bought this to use for teaching young children. Been using masks every day so I needed something that could amplify my voice clearly and loudly in a classroom that has students physically distanced and far away. This worked fantastically for the 4 months it DID work. After working flawlessly for months and with regular charging, the Gigaphone Voice Amplifier suddenly wouldn't turn on after I had turned it off mid-lesson today. Nothing has been damaged. The charge cord has not been bent and I've never dropped the amplifier. I tried charging again with no success - it's dead. Nothing indicates it could be broken when I've opened the battery pack.For over $200, you'd expect something to at least work for a couple years. It was great while it lasted, but for less than 5 months, I'm very disappointed.
