On both I can blow into from both sides and air pass through, are both damaged?

Not a direct answer but one of the two I received failed after a few weeks; upon removal I was able to pass air thru both sides. I did not test the new one (should have), but it seems to be working fine.

Higher number means less flow resistance (higher waste water flow to the drain).
