If you're looking for something that's going to last, this is it!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Amazing sledge!I always wanted a sledge, even just a flimsy plastic one would of done, but my Mum always said "next time it snows you can have one". Next time it snowed there were never any to be had. Bought this for my daughter who is nearly 6 mid January. It seems to run a bit cheaper if you get it when no snow is forecast, but was well worth the money regardless. It fits her and me, or her and her dad on for sleding. Great fun! Strong wood, well built and the metal runners means it can pick up quite a good speed!Over all excellent purchased and couldn't be more happy. I can see this lasting until she's much older. Maybe even her children will ride it if it gets a bit of TLC.My daughter was so happy when it turned up, we had to keep it in the lounge for a week because she insisted on playing absolutely anything while sat on it.Recommend buying the rope to pull it along, but you could just use rope easily rather than forking out an extra £6-8.

Better on well packed snow. Should last a lifetime.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I bought this in 2013, but it took until 2017 for the snow to come. This sledge is solidly and nicely built, but not to a luxurious standard as one or two of the surfaces feel a little rough to the touch. No risk of any splinters and it should last a lifetime if kept in a dry loft rather than a damp garage or shed. It's better on packed snow than on freshly fallen. Today (December 2017) on 12cm of overnight snow, it was much better in the afternoon once the snow had been packed down on the neighbourhood slopes, than in the morning when the snow was loose. It runs nice and stable, and the ability to brake with your feet is much greater with this than with a low plastic sledge. That said, a plastic sledge with a similar configuration would be easier to walk to the slopes with. However this wood sledge survived several times going off the grass over a curb onto the road and I think the 10cm drop onto the road would probably do damage to a plastic sledge.Highly recommended, but buy in Spring, Summer or Autumn when the price will be lower. There is no 'too early' with sledges, only 'too late'.

Great piece of kit
I got this for unconventional use - carrying hay bales across muddy fields. It is excellent for this job as it glides over the mud.Bonus is kids can play with it when it snows!

Goes like a train
I bought this last Christmas, and my daughter spent Christmas day lying inside the box it came in...then, brilliantly, it snowed. This sledge moves very quickly! We could fit 2 daughters (8 and 4) and their dad on there comfortably. At one point with the dad and younger daughter it went so quickly that it left the ground before landing sturdily and confidently - much to the daughter's glee (and her father's terror). I'm glad I bought it - it has spent most of the year in the garage but we know we have a quality and robust sledge for when it does snow.
