Yes, it's actually worth the money. And buy the smallest size that will fit your dog.
I have a very strong and determined 55 lb dog that will pull and pull and strain himself into a choking mess yet still lunge forward anytime he's on the leash. He would pull himself until he started gagging and yet still pull. I'm sure people passing by saw me as a jerk trying to kill his dog. It really made walking him a chore, and with all of his sudden lunging and pulling, it was dangerous for anyone else in my family to walk him since a few times he pulled my 10 yr old son airborne. Parting with nearly $40 for some length of nylon webbing and clips seemed ridiculous, but I was at the point where I was willing to try anything.Well, 5 minutes into the walk after putting on this harness for the first time and it's like walking a completely different dog. He still pulls, but it's much, much reduced in frequency and strength. The harness truly helps to correct his behavior without choking him. The package includes directions on how to use this harness to help train the dog to walk along side you, and after 3 days, my dog is doing it. Absolutely unbelievable. My 6 yr old can walk him now without him pulling too hard. Now the twice daily walks are enjoyable. My dog's measurement was at 26.5 inches, so he fell between fitting in the medium or the large harness. I thought about buying the large in case my dog grew some more (he's 2 yrs old and nearly fully grown), but went with the medium based on the recommendations of the manufacturer. The medium actually fits very well and there's still some room to let it out if he grows a bit more. I think the large would have had just to much extra material and probably would not have fit him as well.So yes, this is pricey, but it works like magic and I'm glad I bought it

He still pulls but he's happier with this leash
We're really getting a bicep workout walking our dog with this leash. He pulls constantly so we're training him and still having to 'hold him back to heel'. He has more freedom with this than with the Gentle Leader - no more rubbing his face in the grass to get the lead off his face.

Dog didn't like the harness, but I bought the leash
My skittish dog wouldn't let me put this harness on, so I returned it. However, I was very impressed with the leash and bought it to use with another harness.

Very Good Investment
Adopted shepherd/greyhound mix has incredible pulling power, especially for his 45# size. It was almost a deal-breaker because, in addition to being old and out of shape, I have a couple of mobility issues. However, the Humane Society rep assured me that this harness would make a difference, and what a difference it makes! He loves to go walking, and I no longer need two hands to control him. The way the strap crosses his chest is enough to inhibit his natural inclination to explore at top speeds. By holding the attached hand strap, the leash itself slides around in its D-ring to make adjustments as to which of the two harness D-rings reminds him he's leashed - and no choking. (He wears a separate collar.) He's also a chewer, so I don't leave him unattended while suited up, although the fabric is very strong and well constructed.

After trying a gentle leader (no good for this dog)
I was very skeptical about this or any harness. After trying a gentle leader (no good for this dog), the harness was my last resort. I am completely blown away by how effective and comfortable it is for my dog. He is a 35lb pit-mix rescue with "leash reactivity." He is a perfect gentleman when we are alone, but if another person or a dog approaches, he goes crazy. When the leash is clipped in the back, the freedom harness cinches up on his middle if he pulls too much. When clipped in front, if he pulls he is redirected back towards me. It is also super easy to put on the dog when he is sitting or standing. I am very pleased with this harness.

Regretted spending money on this shortly after I bought it
I bought this to help with my husky pulling, but unfortunately it seemed like a waist of money. To be honest it looked nice on my dog and seemed comfortable, but it was too comfortable for my furry baby and he took total advantage of it and kept pulling.40-50$ seems expensive for this item, definitely not durable, the fabric and suede started peeling off shortly after I bought it. The item is sitting somewhere in my closet. Haven’t used it for about a year. If you are buying this stop your dog from pulling, try something else. I do not recommend this.

easy to put and remove
This harness is made of heavy weaving and hardware. I wish the leash was narrower for the medium size and the anchors much lighter and smaller (they are an overkill and may even hold the dead weight of a large human being). Use instructions are clear. The adjustment of the straps is not fast but at the same time they do not seem to need to be readjusted over time.

Best harness I have tried
This is the best harness I have been able to find for my leash reactive dog after trying ruffwear, gentle leader, and easy walker. On most days when he's calm I only use the back clip, but I love having the front clip option to shorten up the leash and get more control. It also doesn't hit low enough on his chest to restrict his front leg movement which I experienced with the easy walker, and it doesn't irritate his armpits.
