Brilliant for Karndean/LVT type floors
I've only used this to clean hard floors - I think it would be useless on rugs, despite the manufacturer saying it's OK. On our Karndean and Laminate floors it works well, and I manage to do three large rooms before the battery dies.A few tips:- Always walk away from the cleaned area (i.e. work backwards). That way a) you won't leave footprints on wet floors, and b) you won't get streaks.- Don't keep the detergent trigger pressed all the time. Press it on the away stroke, and then release it as you draw the machine back. In fact on only lightly soiled floors you can just press the trigger intermittently on the away stroke, it doesn't need the full thing.- It cleans closer to the edges than it does with the front of the machine, so always wash around the edges with a parallel motion. In our kitchen I do the edges first, then move on to the main clean.- When you switch off it can leave a small puddle of soapy water, so keep the machine running when you lift it off the floor.I hope that helps some people.Overall it's a great machine, and picks up loads more dirt than a mop and bucket. Plus you're always using clean water, whereas with a bucket you're washing the floor with soup!

Not easy to fix when (not if) it goes wrong
Was very excited to try this as the concept is excellent. The reality is that it leaves streaks when cleaning, a puddle when turned off, the switch failed requiring a whole new handle and then the battery failed a week after that. They are not made to be repaired, which given the initial cost is extraordinary. You will also spend longer cleaning the machine than your floors.

Does the job
I like that it’s cordless - makes it so much quicker to get around. Suction is very good and it keeps the floors clean. The battery life is enough to allow me do my 1300 sq foot home on one charge. The main con is that you have to disassemble and clean it after each use. Although you get used to it, that can be a little time consuming.Overall glad I purchased it and would recommend.

Can the floor be that dirty.
Fantastic product if you want to see how dirty the floor actually is, every time it’s used the water picked up is greyish black ???

Flimsy
I really wanted this floor cleaner. But I’m going to say don’t waste your money! The first cleaner I had I paid £449 for. Which is a huge amount of money for a floor cleaner. At first I thought wow it’s brilliant. Yes you can clean in one go rather than having to hoover first then clean. This does it all in one. But the handle is really flimsy. I had to send the first one back as the handle broke! Amazon referred me back to the manufacturer. They took forever to decide if they were going to fix it or replace it. I had to dismantle it and send it back for them to look at. After about 3 weeks of waiting they were going to fix it but parts weren’t in so eventually after quite a few phone calls they did replace it. But unfortunately like the last one this new one has gone the same way as the last. The handles are not made robustly enough. Very disappointed as we haven’t had this one very long. When you spend £449 you expect it to last longer than a year. Unfortunately both have not lasted! Extremely disappointed certainly will not be buying another one. Please don’t waste your money!

Wow!
I have had the original corded crosswave for a number of years and have bought many replacement filters and brushes but I am aware of it’s faults so after been given Amazon vouchers for Xmas I did my research and decided on the cordless crosswave max as after reading the comments seemed to address my issues with the original crosswave.1. The integral hair debris catcher is definitely a winner, with 3 dogs shedding hair liberally I usually let the roomba do the hard work and then move onto the crosswave however when the roomba ran out of juice before finishing the kitchen I just went for it dog hairs and all and it did a fantastic job.2. weight, whilst this is a lot heavier it works to its advantage, we have a slightly uneven wooden floor which the original struggles with but the cordless crosswave max is not daunted and cleans as well in the uneven area as the flat floor3. The self cleaning brush when placed back on the charger was a revelation normally I would have to take the brush roll assembly to pieces and remove all the dog hair, whilst the cordless max had dog hair on the brush when placed in self cleaning mode it got sucked dramatically up the machine and into the waste water bucket and gathering on the new hair trap, amazing!4. Just the fact it’s cordless is in itself a massive bonus5. The edge cleaning, this is much much better than the original6. I admit I am anal about floor cleaners of any type but with 3 dogs it’s an everyday necessity so to sum it up I love it!!7. No reason to put off cleaning the floor now, being cordless makes cleaning a doddle, as I have a bad back fighting with the corded version just made me put off cleaning the floor.
