Can you sit on this toilet when it is closed? if you do does it flex badly or does it hold up well??

Yes, you can easily sit on the lid of the toilet when it is down. There is very little flexing with this lid. It is the soft close lid that came with the Toto toilet.

Where is the height dimension taken from the front or the back?

I think it is the back. Overall the seat is rather flat, no real difference (other than the older version). Unfortunately, I have to say that the quality of the material is not whatI was used from TOTO (already see some bending).

What is the difference between SS114 and SS154?
