Q: How thick is it? I want a topper for softness but all cotton.

Not very thick at all. It’s more of a cover than a topper for volume. But it does provide a soft feel and it is just cotton, which is so hard to find.

Q: Should I use a fitted sheet over it or sleep on it as is ?

It is a mattress pad, it protects the mattress and keeps you more comfortable. It is meant to be used under a sheet. I wouldn't want to have to wash the mattress pad once a week - you'll reduce its life by too much wear and tear.

Q: How deep of a mattress can this accomodate?

Ours is currently on a 13" deep mattress with room left over. I think it would accommodate another 1" or possibly 2" from the look of it. How odd that they don't list that information anywhere in the product description. Good luck.
