Orolay Women's Hooded Down Jacket Long Winter Coat

I love this coat! I schlep around Manhattan getting to and from work so I’m out in the elements during the cold months. Here’s what I love about this coat: 1) it’s not black (I alllllways buy black); 2) it’s long without being obnoxious or getting in my way (ie., if I had to run to catch a train, from a dog, from a Times Square Elmo, I could); 3) I am a white woman and I wear [too much] foundation - unlike my black hearts club coats, this one won’t show those gross makeup smudges after a few wears (or it shouldn’t, but so far so good); 4) deep fleece pockets keep my hands warm when I forget my gloves, which is 90% -100% of the time; 5) it has snaps so without missing a beat, you can quickly block out the cold wind without being “THAT LADY” who stops in the middle of the sidewalk, stopping foot traffic to zip your damn coat; 6) the hood is attached so when you are taking off your cross body bag, you won’t rip off the removable hood and then throw it to the ground in a rage, leaving it for dead on the uptown E train; 7) when you sit down while wearing the coat, it feels like your sitting on a slowly deflating pillow and let’s face it, that’s just a nice experience for your bum.

I didn't expect much but this is fast becoming my favorite winter coat. I had the original Orolay coat and gave it away as I found it was way too heavy and the side zippers let in too much chill in the wind. No, this version is not as warm as my LL Bean coat, but it is surprisingly light weight and I don't overheat in it like I do with the LL Bean. There does seem to be some cold spots here and there (especially when it's windy), but it layers just fine over bulkier sweaters. I have worn it in temps from low 30s to 50F (adjusting layers worn below) and it's comfy. (Not sure it'd work in 20 F and below freezing temps without appropriate layering). I wore it in light snow and it worked fine. I am 5'0 so it's a tad on the longer side (hits mid calf) but still looks cute and not like it's swallowing me up, plus I like having the leg coverage. The hood is great, as is the collar which snaps. I have a short neck so was worried about the collar but it works just fine, though I wear a merino gaiter under anyway. I like that it has snaps that cover the zipper to keep out the wind. Most of all, I adore the color! The color is so pretty and flattering.

This coat came in a zip type bag, but it was not zipped up. This gave me the impression it had been sent to someone else first and they couldn't get the coat to fit back in the bag and zip it up. The coat also stinks - smells like it was worn by someone who smokes, had BO, or had really bad taste in perfume. It is a real shame because the coat is beautiful and fits well. I like the coat, but will most likely return due to the smell. This is a lot of money to spend on a coat that appears to have been used and needs to be cleaned before I can use it. Also, not real thrilled about having to spend my time and energy packing up and returning a coat that should never have been sent to me in this condition.

Love this coat. Look at it several times last winter and finally decided to get it this year. It’s lightweight yet very warm. The color is deeper than pictured. It’s more a soft smoke blue with purple undertones rather than a light pastel blue. I really like the color. I bought an XL yet a large might have been okay. Still, I like lots of room in my coats because i wear sweaters or sweatshirts in colder weather. I’m 5’7”, 160 lbs. and the coat comes just below my knees; perfect length for me. It has an slight A-line shape which I find comfortable to wear. I definitely recommend this coat.

I ordered this for a trip to Montreal, Canada in mid-March, snow and rain was expected. This was the perfect coat to have taken. Super lightweight, stylish, 2 exterior pockets, (really wish there was at least one inside pocket), right length. We did indeed have rain and snow but this coat heldup and kept me dry and warm!

I bought this about 6 weeks ago, and I'm LOVING it! I have another down coat, but it's light in color (was washing too often) and wanted to get something dark to wear every day. I got it in amaranth which is such a beautiful rich color, somewhere between purple and burgundy. I've gotten so many compliments.We have had some very cold days this year. Usually I'm sensitive to the cold, but not in this coat. A month ago we went away to upstate NY for 9 days, and stayed in a bed and breakfast in a small city. We walked everywhere, and this coat kept me warm. It's comfortable with a double zipper, plus snaps for extra protection from the wind. The hood fits just right, not too large or too small. It has a bit of an A-line, so not too snug on the bottom. It's longer than most coats, so that adds to the warmth when it's blustery outside. I would definitely recommend it!

I love this coat! I wanted something beyond the "Amazon Coat" but I also needed something that worked with my pear shape. I normally have issues with buying a coat that fits my hips and butt but then is too large for my chest and torso. This coat solves that issue. It's also warm and feels like I'm sitting on a cloud when I'm sitting on the subway. My only wish would be that it had an inside pocket and then it'd be perfect.

Avendo anni fa acquistato un bel piumino OROLAY, non ho esitato ad ordinarne un altro e dopo averlo usato ne sono ben contenta. Anche questo modello è avvolgente, caldissimo e idrorepellente e inoltre possiede finiture ben curate : penso che durerà in ottime condizioni come l'altro. L'aspetto è gradevole, con una lieve sciancratura e liscio e il cappuccio privo del bordo di pelo. Non ho dato 5 stelle per alcuni dettagli; mancano una tasca interna, o almeno cerniere alle tasche, e a mio parere dei polsini interni che blocchino l'aria fredda. Comunque ribadisco che sono soddisfatta, tanto che ho comprato da OROLAY anche un giubbotto per me e un giaccone per mio marito, anche quelli bellissimi. N.B. : attenzione alla taglia, perché veste abbondante: Amazon mi ha indicato di acquistare XXL, ma ho dovuto renderlo e sostituirlo con XL, che è comunque bella comoda anche con un maglione pesante. Il venditore è attento. Consiglio assolutamente l'acquisto.

Ein sehr angenehm zu tragender Mantel. Sehr schöne Farbe. Trotz meiner Körpergröße war mir der Mantel zu groß.

Lo he usado en Noruega en Marzo, sólo una semana en viaje, y llevando capas debajo, de ropa térmica y forro polar, me ha servido para temperatura 5 o 10 grados bajo cero. Me queda un poco justo y notaba cierto calor en la espalda como si no transpira bien, pero creo que es por ser talla muy justa, una mayor estaría mejor porque las mangas son estrechas además. Con jerseys de mucha sisa de lana o gordos, cuesta meter las mangas.
