Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Bought this recently because I liked the demo and heard the sequel was coming out.Pros:In game graphics is stunning. It's a dated game but graphics is still great.Great overall controls, they made easy and simple, it will make you feel like a fast moving killing machine. It can be difficult to do more controlled movements whenever you want to make it through certain obstacles because character movement like turning is not that precise. But no big deal. Liked how they used the SIXAXIS to make ninpo more powerful.Decent storyline, at least there was decent attempt to create a story supported by some lore.Very challenging. Offers different levels of challenges. Just finsihed normal mode and working on hard mode. Definitely need some patience to master. It's not your regular hack and slash. You will actually need to know what technique works best on each enemy, even the weakest ones. This makes the game more interesting since you don't just blindly hack your way to completion. Your character is very powerful as long as you know how to use him/her.Nice variety of weapons, power ups, upgrades, secondary weapons. The different weapons change the play style which is great.Also has a treasure hunt kind of feature and several in game challenges to get more power ups which I think is a good addition to the overall game.Cons:One thing that really annoyed me about this game was in some boss battles, there were areas where your character can normally access (when not in a boss battle) that all of a sudden you cannot access during a boss battle. There is no obstruction, no nothing, it's just the character just cannot move in that direction anymore. To me it was stupid. Developers could have at least made some kind of barrier or something which would make area movement restriction more sensible. To me this is due to lazy developers.Also in boss battles the camera angles are restricted which is annoying. Normally you can control the direction of the camera but in some boss battles there fixed camera angles. Not a big deal but a little annoying.Movie cutscenes not so great, they seem to have used the original xbox cutscenes which are not up to the current graphic standards, no big deal but annoying.Overall a great game even with it's minor flaws. I'm happy I got it, I'm sad that I did not get it much earlier. Going to definitely get the sequel. Will be replaying this for quite some time.

This is a great game, nothing but a fun ride all the way through the MANY levels. It also has tons of extras to be unlocked, so this is a highly playable game over and over again. It just never gets tired. Sure if you have played Ninja Gaiden Black for the xbox it may seem a little recycled but that was for a different platform. The Sigma series is something you need to play for yourself. A great addition to the Ryu Hayabusa story line. The graphics and story line are amazing not to mention brutal gameplay with a wide array of weapons. You won't be disappointed and it's at a great price now that it's a greatest hit. Get this game.

I was never a big Ninja Gaiden fan, but after playing this game I have become one. This game has everything that an action game should should have.-Great graphics- great action- stellar boss battles- and much moreBeing the first installment, I suggest getting this game, if you are a fan of action games. Because you will most likely want to get sigma 2 after. The difficultly is somewhat annoying at time, but nothing to get hung up on, i.e. the ghost fish are a pain in the a**.- the gameplay is great- the story is ok- and the characters are pretty cool.There is little that is actually wrong with this game. I would actually give it 4.5 stars. I do not love this game, because I don't love games. I just find them entertaining, and that is what this game is. This game will give you some entertainment for a good ten to 12 hours in one sit through. Maybe more, that is just the story. There is modes after that you can play, and if you have online you can see where you can rank. Like I said, I suggest this gameThe cons- little bugs in the gameplay- the ghost fish (I do not think they are fun in anyway). They should come up with a way to make them attack where they only consume up to half of your health at most. Watching Ryu being eaten to death by fish is just plain stupid. This is no reason not to get the game. It does happen a lot but not too much.As you can see there are a lot more pros then cons to me. There is nothing perfect in this world, so if you are thinking about it. You should get it.

It was way too difficult. I'd get lost or die with the endless assault of enemies. Wait... it is just like the NES classic. Once you turn the corner and comeback your enemies are there again.

When I played the demo for this game I was very excited and against the advice of my friend I brougt this game. After about an hour or so of game play I can say I was ready for this game to be over! This game is too long(for no reason) and the story line goes on and on and after you beat one boss you think somthong really awesome is going to happen but no! somthong dumb and pointless happens.The only challenge that you will face is enduring this games long pointless story line. The bosses were easy to beat once you figure out the pattern if anything it's annoying! I would not recommend this game to anyone! On the plus side the graphics are awesome and the fight combos are pretty sweet,still that does not make up for the wasted time and WTH is going on questions you will be asking yourself. So do yourself a favor and save some time and money.......don't get this game!
