Where Snow Angels Go

A gorgeous hardback book, beautifully written by the talented Maggie O'Farrell, with wonderful illustrations by Daniela Jaglenka Terrazzini. I have been reading about 20 pages per night to my six-year-old son and am looking forward to reading it to my eight-year-old next. It has the perfect balance of accessible language and challenging vocabulary to introduce children to, e.g. 'affronted' and 'opalescent'. A lovely book.

This is probably one of the most visually stunning books I’ve read in 2020. The story is beautiful too. A young girl discovers that when we create a snow angel it becomes a guardian angel of sorts and is always there to look after and protect us. A truly beautiful little story. I will read this every year at Christmas! I think it would be a perfect tale for parents to read their kids before bed at night. I can almost see the scene... It’s Christmas Eve, the snow is gently falling and mummy and daddy are reading to the kiddies after they’ve played in the snow and left out milk and cookies for Santa. Perfect!

This is a beautifully sensitively written book, with a fabulous story well presented for children (or adults) of today.The illustrations are so beautiful and work with the story so well.I would recommend it to anyone looking for a child's Christmas present or a book to read at any time.Definitely a book to keep on the bookshelf.

I don't often write reviews on books as their relevance really do rely on personal preferences - whether adult, non/fiction, crime etc etc.However, this book will appeal to adults as well as children! I bought this on a whim, having read glowing reviews. The story is simple but heartwarming and narrated beautifully, As an adult I read it in 15 minutes max, but what makes this book magical is the gorgeous illustrations.I am so pleased I bought this book - the story and illustrations will stay with me a long while and the book will be a "go to gift idea" for friends and young relatives!

I bought this for my granddaughter (8 years) and she loved it. It's beautifully written - as you'd expect from Maggie O'Farrell. The language is perfect, which makes a very welcome change from the patronising way in which some children's books are written, and the vocabulary is wonderful, for example - 'opalescent' - such a beautiful word! This is Maggie O'Farrell's first book for children (but adults will enjoy it as well) - I hope she writes many more.
