Works just perfect

I don’t have a handy bone in my body, but knew there had to be an easier (and cheaper!) way to fix the low water pressure issue from one of our Kohler bathroom sink faucets than calling a plumber. I had no idea if this particular key and aerator would work on the model we have, but it worked like a charm. Very easy to use and removed the old aerator and installed the new one in under a minute. To loosen, had to turn clockwise then counter clockwise to tighten back up. Here is a picture of our faucet if it helps. We now have high water pressure with good aeration bubbles.

We remodeled our bathrooms a year ago with 4 Kohler Devonshire single handle faucets. The water flow in the two bathrooms used most frequently started to decrease after only a year. I thought it was a defect with the faucets but I decided to try to clean or replace the aerators. Kohler does not make that easy. A special aerator key is needed. I couldn't find one locally and checked Amazon and found this. I bought this one because it was inexpensive and worth a try. It worked. I tried cleaning the existing aerator but the flow was still not good so I tried the new aerator and it works better that the original. I went back on Amazon and bought 3 more! The key is plastic and I don't expect it to last long so it is nice to have several. If water flow becomes compromised again I may just try cleaning the aerator rather than replacing it.

Cons first: Kohler/moen uses a non-standard faucet insert (and key) so if you own a Kohler faucet, you must use their parts. There are many aftermarket aerators that could improve your waters flow, but you can't have them. Pros: This tool and single, cheap replacement aerator fit perfectly (18.5MM). It was easy to replace on an existing faucet that had clogged up. It flows at a rate suitable for bathroom sinks. The price was good compared to other options.

I live in an area with hard water and recently needed to remove the aerator from my Kohler Devonshire lavatory faucet because lime scale buildup was greatly restricting its water flow. Fortunately, I still had my original Kohler aerator key. However, due to the extensive lime scale, corrosion, it was a major struggle to get the aerator loose. In my struggle to get the aerator out I slightly rounded off some of the teeth on my original key. Out of curiosity, I searched Amazon to see if I could get a replacement key. I was very happy to find not only could I get a key but a replacement aerator for a very reasonable price. Comparing the keys, this new one seems to fit the same and be made of the same plastic material as the original key. I believe the new key will be reasonably durable for what it is, although I think it is possible I could round off the teeth on my new key if I again have to struggle with resistant corrosion in the future. Hopefully Amazon will continue to carry this item so if I damage my replacement key in the future, I’ll be able to simply order another one at a similar reasonable price.

Package had already been torn open when we got it. But hey, all parts were there, so we tried to use it to romper the aerator on our faucet. But it wouldn’t work: the plastic is too soft and literally doesn’t grip hard enough and just starts to flake. Ended up ordering an off-brand version out of metal that got the aerator off without problems.

These types of faucet aerator's are extremely difficult to work with even with this tool. You HAVE to have this tool to take the aerator off, but you'll hate every minute of it. First you are working upside down, and can't see where the holes are, even with a mirror it hard to see because your hands are in front of the aerator. Then you have to think to turn right or left (you're upside down), then you have to hold the tool with one hand and turn with the other, I couldn't do it with only one hand, my hand doesn't bend in that position and gravity is working against you. The plastic tool will work but plan on a long time, but the teeth move and bend too easy, metal would be better, but more expensive. My thought's, whoever dreamed up this type of aerator, should have to come to your house and remove it for you. It was a dumb idea.

My Kohler bathroom sink was giving me zero pressure and trickling out water so I figured I'd swap out the aerator because that's what everyone online said to try first. Bought this and used it right away with no problem at all. New aerator is in and my sink works better than ever. I have one hand and was able to use this key to remove the old one and install the new one in about 5 minutes.

La verdad lo compré para que no saliera el chorro de agua por si ningún lado. Si cumple su función pero la verdad si aminora demasiado la presión de agua.

Checked the reviews and took a chance that this would fit my Moen bathroom sinks (3). YES, it does....it fits great and the key provided works like a charm. Looked everywhere for this at hardware stores with no luck. Glad that it was available on line.......states it is a KOHLER part but fits Moen like a glove!

As described. Works great. Easy to use when applying constant pressure, turning clockwise to unscrew the aerator.

It was unclear if it was the correct size I needed because I didn’t see it in the specs. I did some digging and came to the conclusion that it was TJ cache size (M 18.5) because the key was green. Well, it worked like a charm. I removed the aerator and replaced it with the new one in about 90 secs. My bathroom faucet is a pfister Verona.

Had a kitchen sink from Kohler, this aerator DID NOT FIT! I was so mad, why would you only have one option for size(does not even say the accurate size anywhere) but then have faucets of different size. Such a waste of time! Had to go to home depot to finally get one of the same size!
