Great product
I never leave reviews but I have to say I'm extremely impressed with this item I don't know how it handles large gauges of wires but for smaller wires it works very well and saved me a whole bunch of time I would absolutely recommend this product but make sure that you buy a pair of banana connectors along with it if you don't already have some

Compliment to any professional tool box
This piercing tool works just as good as my FLUKE one But at a fraction of the cost, I have bought 8 so far and intend on buying more as these are so helpful. This tool requires the know how, and how to use finesse when using this type of tool. This tool is designed to be used to pierce the wire insulation under its own spring pressure only. This tool was never designed to have it forced closed in any way, as this tool was specifically designed to apply its own closing force with the internal engineered spring. In the event of the circumstance of the wire insulation is too hard to pierce, and un penetrable by the tools own spring pressure, this is usually caused by old weathered wiring insulation. You may find it necessary to take a small Dremel drill and create a small hole in the insulation using a 1/32” drill bit +/- or by using a pin used to hold shirts together when you buy them, heat the tip with a micro torch and quickly pierce the insulation, this may take several applications. Either way this will provide access for the piecing probe, using finesse must be exercised with this toolThis tool only hooks up to the FLUKE test probe leads, you might have to make a pigtail of your desired length and use a round male crimp end on one end and the round female crimp end on the other to attach your test lead to this tools end. Or you can be as creative as you like.Tool works flawlessly if a little care and finesse is used.Good luck………………………………………………………………..b

Very good value, glad to own
Only four stars because they wouldn't pierce the wires to a thermistor of an ice maker; the size of the wire was within the range but the coating was very rubbery and the self-centering system didn't work and the needle pushed the wire out of the way.I tested on some 18ga wire and it worked well, its a very decent copy of 'the real thing' and at an eighth of the price, worth having a copy, i've been wanting some piercing leads for a long time. I ordered some 224 fluke leads to go with but bought on eBay for $12 or so half the price here.I was going to get the screw-on type but they are all low voltage i need something for 240v testing these are rated to 1000v.

Good alternative to Fluke version...
Have a Fluke meter and a few other higher end models too. Needed these for a truck wiring project and they are worth the money! I've used the Fluke brand version of these before [borrowed] and they are flawless...but if its not something you are going to use every day, week or even month then save a few bucks and buy these. Definitely not Fluke level BUT for the 2-3 times a year I will probably use them they will be fine. $55-75 for the real-deal is not in my budget. If its in yours then definitely buy the Flukes... :)

Works well
Delivery was on schedule. Product has worked as expected. Seems built very well. Has trouble piercing old wires

Spring too weak to pierce - unreliable
These are unreliable. The spring is too weak to adequately and consistently pierce the wires. You can try to squeeze the ends together to pierce but even then this can lead you down rabbit holes. Better off w/ the screw type piercing probes like the Pamona or Fluke.

Great tool, rough version here.
Be sure you dont require piercing any hard coated wiring, even the soft wires seem to have required me to “hold and tug” the end to get the needle to pierce and make contact with the conductor inside. I was okay with this until the end came apart, obviously from me slightly tugging on it during use to get needle to pierce.I will glue it and give it another shot.

If you aren’t a prime member. They don’t ship for at least one week!!!!!
The product works great. Well worth the money. I bought two sets. The only draw back is Amazon will hold your order for at least one week if you aren’t a prime member.
