Easy to install and very effective

I disagree with the company’s and Amazon’s position that this lock can not be returned.
What I disliked about the product was that It did not fit on the sliding glass door trim as the advertisement said it would. As you can see from the photos, I had to cut into the sheetrock because the plate stuck out so far. Even after lining up the plate to receive the lock, I had to shim in between the door trim and the plate to hold it in place. I finally gave up! When the contractor came out to measure for a new door, he said the lock was not going to fit the frame of my slider. I just wish I had not tried so hard for so long to make it work. I thought I was doing something wrong. Now I can’t return this expensive lock and I can’t do anything with it!

Not for Patio Sliding Door
If you have a typical metal frame sliding door, this will probably not work. The inside portion with the locking hook will not align with the frame’s thin profile. It will also show the opposite “hook” when the door is left in the closed but unlocked position. If you have a thick door sash (like an inside sliding pocket door), this will probably work.

Do not buy from this seller. This lock did not work for what I needed it, and the seller made the return process sound as expensive as me buying the item to begin with. Instead of continuing to help me get a refund, he offered to give me a small percentage refund and just have me keep it. It’s not worth it
