And, yeah, the near IR light (630 nm) is blindingly bright so the 300 meter range is no mere brag—keep away from eyes! My light meter measured output at 1890 LUX next to the light head, compared to 300 LUX for the single LED near IR model I own. Obviously three LEDs are brighter than one but also hotter running. The outer case gets very warm after about 5 minutes of constant use. Ten minutes borders on too hot to comfortably hold. Also, those 3 LED eat lots of power compared to my one LED UltraFire, so keep a spare battery handy and buy the highest mAH rating you can muster. My UltraFire battery is 3000 mAH and I burn through it in an evening of heavy use whereas the one LED UltraFire is good for three or four days with the same battery. He suggested a red flashlight. This one works well. He claims I no longer blind him at night, and we can see very well with this.
