Took forever to get it come. Shipped from India. But works great worth the wait.

quality counts
I have used Mitutoyo measuring products for 30 years without a single problem on any purchase. I use their measuring tools most every day for work and will use nothing else. Mitutoyo is a much better choice in my opinion than BestTest, Brown and Sharpe, Fowler, etc.yes they are a bit more expensive, but quality and accuracy is important for this sort of tool. I can use my Mitutoyo indicator and magnetic base every day for 2-3 years while others around me are replacing their cheap indicators and bases every 6-8 months. do the math and then buy the good stuff. there is a lot of junk out there today. your reputation for quality parts is all you have at the end of the day, I refuse to skimp.

Very Disappointed in Mitutoyo
First let me state that I love Mitutoyo's instruments. The best calipers I've ever owned are Mitutoyo. The Digimatic Indicator I was using with this base is a Mitutoyo that is good to 1/10,000th of a mm, and even though the reviews weren't sparkling on this base and it was far more expensive than others here on Amazon, I chose this one because it was Mitutoyo. With that said, stay away from it. The fine adjustment on this unit has extensive slack in it that was so bad I couldn't get a consistent reading with my Digimatic. I was trying to measure runout on a drill press earlier and after zeroing it, when I brought the arbor back around to the same spot, the reading would be no where near zero. I can't even give you a good reading on how far it was off as it wasn't consistent from one turn to the next.

Poor quality
Mag mount is fine, but the flexi stand is very poor. Doe not even clamp down on my Mitutoyo indicator. Very poor, shame on you Mitutoyo.
