Winds the hose perfectly every time. Comes with a jump hose. Reel can be made to swivel or you can lock it so it’s straight. When pulling the hose out you can switch between locking of free spool. Would recommend to anyone looking for a soft hose, easy to use ratcheting hose real.

I hung this on the wall at about eye level in my garage. I first screwed in a piece of 2x4 into the studs and then bolted this to the 2x4. There is 50ft of hose, but I wish it had at least 75. Fifty gets it out the garage and I can get the rear tires of the cars parked close to the garage door. There appears to be enough room for about another 25 ft of hose on the reel. It has a switch for ratchet and free-spool and a connecting length of hose that will reach the supply source parked directly under the reel. The real swings left to right freely as you pull the hoseI have had this for at least two years and for occasional use it has been flawless. It is something I wish I had always had. It is heavy duty at least for occasional use, but I think you could easily use it for regular work. It fells very well made. I spent quite a bit of time researching getting this with several trips to garages looking at the "professional" reels. Now that I have it, I like that it is enclosed. The plastic is heavy duty and does not look cheap to me. It looks good in the garage in black.

I’ve had my share of hose reels, and after only 3 short months the hose leader has failed so now it recoils all in one spaghetti disc and won’t retract all the hose. Oh, and the hose popped off the plastic L junction they used to feed air through the reel the third time I used it, always regulated to 90psi. (below what it’s rated for) I’m beyond mad considering the price. Just spend an extra 50 and get the industrial one instead.Total letdown.I’m a mechanic, and this hose reel is garbage.

Installed this product in my home garage. It wasn't clear from the description on Amazon but the reel comes with a mounting bracket that can be configured to pivot (±65 degrees of travel from centerline) or be fixed. This is important since the hose must be pulled out straight away from the reel. Some reels have rollers (this one doesn't) where the hose leaves the reel so the hose can be pulled out at an angle. With the bracket set up to pivot, it's no problem though since the whole reel pivots to stay in line with whatever direction the hose is pulled out. This makes it easy to pull out the hose to any location in the garage. Just keep in mind that the reel is fairly bulky so plan your installation with enough room to allow the reel to swing from side to side.The leader hose (from the source to the side of the reel) has a 3/8 NPT male fitting to connect to your air source. I think the leader hose is about 5 ft long. The main hose also has a 3/8 NPT male fitting at the end.The hose itself is living up to the "Flex" part of the name. Even under 90+ PSI, it's extremely flexible. It's summer, so I can't comment on cold temperature flexibility. But it's far superior to the 1/4" PVC hose I had been using previously.

The unit is shipped in only its factory box. The box has zero packaging to protect the unit. The unit is free to rattle and move around in the box. Mine arrived damaged. Warning: Amazon will not let you return this or swap it for another one! You have to call Flexzilla, and work with customer service on what parts are needed to repair it! Good news is Flexzilla customer support is pretty responsive.The unit is quite nice otherwise, and thus i'm still happy with my purchase. Works nicely to reel in and out air hose and would recommend. Just be aware of possible damage in shipping.

It's rare to find a product that lives up to the hype, but this hose/reel does just that. The reel is surprisingly light and mounts easily on the wall bracket which allows 130 degree movement side to side. It can also be disconnected from the bracket for portability and has a convenient handle built into the case. It comes with a nice 5' leader instead of the typical 3 footer, and the mechanism is smooth and positive, making the extension and retraction of the hose easy and flawless. The hose is very flexible and remains pliable under any condition, staying where you want it as opposed to where it's memory wants it to go. If you're tired of struggling with your air hose and you're willing to pay a little extra for the ultimate air hose/reel, this one comes highly recommended. Lastly, the other plus is that it' s "Made In The USA".

This is a fantastic assembly they make it very good product. However, if you get the one in the size, it is literally the size of a garden hose. No ifs ands or buts it is huge, and if it is laying on the floor you will trip over it just like a garden hose.

Revising my original review now: As a professional automotive technician; probably the only good thing about this Legacy (brand) hose-reel is the Flex-Zilla air hose loaded inside of it (hence the 2-star rating).Since we bought this hose reel I've had to repair it 6 times in less than 2 years.First failure after only a few months of use: the {sub-standard quality} hose-clamp that internally attaches the air-supply line popped off and ruptured compressed air until we shut down the air compressor. Subsequent repair required removing the unit from its mounting bracket and some minor dis-assembly to replace the {poor-quality} hose clamp with a {better} new one.Second failure, probably only weeks after the first failure, the holding spring for latching mechanism broke. Again required a dis-mount of the reel and some dis-assembly after ordering the repair parts. Which have again defected another three times in the on coming months of use.Other failures and defects include: The reel not retracting the hose correctly and subsequent jamming of the hose caught on the reel.Was initially pretty happy with the purchase but have since regretted buying it after the first couple of repairs.

Very easy installation

I still prefer the open reel over this one... sometimes the hose jams up so you have to pull it out again and try to align it properly inside which isn't always easy... hence the 4 stars instead of 5... still my favorite hose material though.
