Waste of money
Does not make it much louder at all. Very awkward to mount phone in unit. Worthless.

Good parabolic amplifier
It works as intended, a little too large for the desk but fits my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and any other phone.

Bottom line: it doesn't work
While this is a neat idea, using a parabola to amplify the phone or iPod's internal speaker, it is very poorly executed. Very nice plastic molding and finish, but the green sticky stuff that is supposed to hold the phone or iPod in place doesn't, so the internal speakers are out of position to be amplified.

Does not work
Works about the same as if you didn't have it. This is not powered so I guess they are hoping the sound will echo off the hemisphere. It doesnt.

A clever piece of engineering and design, but is it really useful?
I saw this and thought it would be a neat way of amplifying the audio output of the PDA and smartphone I use for music and audio playback. The idea is clever, as is the design. The main part is a parabolic sphere, which effectively amplifies the sound waves emanating from a speaker aimed into the parabola. It works, but more on that a bit further on.The key to the product is a spindle that goes into the center of the parabolic sphere. At the end of the spindle is an adhesive pad. The refreshable adhesive is very sticky, but not messy. You stick the back of the device on the adhesive pad and it stays there. I've tested it with devices weighing up to nine ounces and it works fine. Adjusting controls on the device isn't a problem: the adhesive holds. When you remove the device, there is no sticky residue. And you can mount your unit repeatedly and simply refresh the adhesive when necessary. Very slick. The spindle also has a cut-out allowing you to run a sync or power cable through it to the device. The parabolic sphere sits on a base that holds it by friction. It can be maneuvered to whatever angle you like. All in all, a very nicely designed package. The manufacturer claims an increase in audio volume of about 10 decibels without requiring a power source. You can absolutely hear the difference between the unassisted speaker and when it is amplified by the Clingo Parabolic Sound Sphere.Audio fidelity, however, is not changed: you're stuck with the same frequency response you get from the unassisted speaker, only it is louder. If you're accustomed to listening the speakers on many laptops, it really isn't much different. If you're expecting an audio miracle, though, you will be disappointed. I found it more than adequate for music and talk radio.I had hopes of using the unit to travel with. Uh, it's several inches around and would take up a considerable amount of space in my roll-on. So, it is desk or table bound.Which brings me to the great question: if you have a laptop or desktop with speakers, will the Clingo Parabolic Sound Sphere give you anything more? I don't think so. But, when you have an environment without computers, say a bedroom and you want to use your smartphone as a music source and alarm clock, the Clingo Parabolic Sound Sphere is pretty cool. You can charge your device, fall asleep to your tunes and have it wake you up. Release the unit from the Clingo adhesive and you're ready to start your day. In all, the Clingo Parabolic Sound Sphere is a very nice piece of design and a novel product. It may not be the most universally useful product, but it definitely has a "Wow!"factor to it and pretty high utility value.Jerry

Totally Awesome
Works great for improving sound. Captures lost sound and sends it back to you. Works much like a cereal bowl or if you cupped your hand behind the speaker. Clingo-sticky center is awesome, I can litterally stick my phone to it and hang it upside down. Adhesive leaves no residue and cleans well. Still sticks, even after washing it. Overall a great product. A little pricey but it is well built, product box is professional and very attractive--especially if giving as a gift. Makes a super cool conversation piece for an office setting.
