Does this plastic case make for a good storage case or is it just for keeping all the pieces together prior to its purchase? Thanks.

Excellent storage case. Someone asked how do you open it without destroying it. Well, the two halves unscrew from each other around the center threaded nub.

Why do some people get clean cuts with these and I don't? What am I doing wrong?

I bought this to make 1/4" cuts for fast drawer box construction. The blades are all intact but the center hub of the nice storage container had broken at the point of attachment. I plastic-welded it back. In order to make 1/4" cuts, you are supposed to just use the two outer blades alone but this did not give a full width cut. It was necessary to use a few of the provided shims to make the correct cut. The teeth are sufficently wide so as to overlap just enough and still give a clean bottom even while spaced. The shim pack is about .028". Now it works perfectly. It is mounted in a small table saw that will be dedicated to that purpose.

can it be used on metric machines too?

can be used only on tablesaws that take a 10 inch blade and have a 5/8 inch arbor. If your instructions all are in metric you must consult your manual to ensure the metric equivalent of 5/8 of an inch.
