Melissa & Doug An Alpha Eye Spy (Poke-a-dot)

The book itself is very good, but the seller sent me a used book without noting it was 2nd hand.

My 2.5 year old was instantly fascinated by this book! She loves to push all the “buttons” and listen to the sounds they make. Would recommend.

I ordered this book for a 3 year old speech therapy client who has autism and is non-verbal. He loves looking at books but has difficulty using hands/fingers for pointing, touching and accessing technology. Most often he stims and just flips pages. This book provides the most practical fun way to practice isolating skills as well as promotes engagement with books and his mom. His mother states this has become his favorite activty and they love to "read" and pop the buttons every day. As a therapist, I could write a paper on what an excellent tool these books are, but the most important thing to share today is that my family I gave this too, LOVES it and it has become a special part of their day to read it.

My son and I read this book while he sits on my lap and he presses the buttons. He likes to push the buttons, but they only work in one direction which causes much distress because if we haven’t gotten through the whole book the last time half of the buttons won’t press the next time around.The spine of the book is also not very well constructed because the pages have come away from it already. Overall a good concept but considering it is quite expensive for a book, I wouldn’t bother.

My grandson loves the POKE books so much. But he wears me out because he likes to poke them for like an hour! They are a little heavy for him to hold but that is why I am here. I highly recommend these books. It helps with hand skills too.

My daughter love pop its. This book has been great for potty training because it gives her something to occupy herself while she tries to pee on the potty.
