What is dial/numbers at the top of the filter mean?

I'd never noticed the numbers until you mentioned them. They recommend replacement every two months. The dial shows numbers 01 through 12 so you can set the dial to show which two months you want to use the filter for, i.e. the dial window is wide enough to cover two months and you can twist it round.. How one uses the numbers is upto them of course but that must be what they're for.

Hi, the Melitta coffee machine will tell you on the screen when it's time to replace the filter. In our household this normally happens every 3 months or so. Reliably fits Melitta machine. Perhaps a bit expensive for what you get

I have a Melitta bean-to-cup machine which makes superb coffee. Other filters are cheaper and advertised as compatible, but when you pay a lot for a good coffee machine, is it worth skimping on pennies for ongoing use? I know these Melitta filters will fit perfectly and help keep my machine producing lovely coffee, so much as I'd like to save a couple of quid, I'm not prepared to take the risk.
