Great litter box
I have the blue one of these that i bought elsewhere a few years ago and i wanted another one to replace a litter box without lid. The cat that uses the regular non-lidded box likes to play in the litter and make a huge mess. I swear to you she throws it in the air and then tries to catch it or hit it with her paws! Well, ive had enough of that and decided to add another lidded and get rid of the open so i ordered another one here at Amazon. I received a nice cream colored one instead of the blue. That was fine with me because i really do not care about the color and i actually think it looks nicer than another blue one... the cream color blends into the room more and doesnt "stick out" as much as the blue one does. I am tempted to order another one and see if i get another cream one and then get rid of the old blue one. I like these litter boxes because they contain the sight and the smells, and they prevent *most* of the litter from tracking. I do take the flap door off though. Its snaps right on and off. The oldest cat never liked it on and i just took it off the new one too because the younger cat is used to seeing the other one without it. The box still provides odor and tracking control just fine without the flap and the mess inside is still hidden since its domed and framed in the front. Also, theres a huge sticker on the front of the flap and you have to soak and scrub it to get it off. It covers pretty much the whole flap and does not peel off nicely at all. It shreds and tears and leaves the white paper residue and nasty mess behind in the areas where you can get it peeled some. So, it would def need soaked and scrubbed. If you dont mind the sticker, i guess its no big deal, but if you would want it off be prepared for the extra steps to do so. The latches on the sides are secure. You can lift and carry or move the box around as needed by the top handle and it wont break or pop open. The foam thing thats supposed to be an odor filter is more of a gimmick i think. It is just foam, not charcoal.. the charcoal ones do provide odor control. It slides in to the vented slot on top and if you took it out and covered the slot with anything else, i think you would have the same odor control simply because the vents are blocked. If nothing is in there then odors are gonna escape. The nice thing about the foam though is that it does allow for some ventilation which i think is necessary and i am sure the cats appreciate it, too. I would absolutely buy this same brand and style again whenever i need another box. My first one was bought about 15 years ago for a cat that has now passed. That one was thrown away when he passed. Then i rescued our senior cat and bought her one about 6 years ago. Our youngest cat is just about a year old now, rescued and was bottle fed and is now happy and healthy... an ornery.. so, this one for her is our third and i would not hesitate to buy another.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Hello crazy cat lovers. If you’re like me you love your cat but you are tired of the smell of the litter box. So you’ve tried about every box out there and none seem to work. Even the closed in boxes with the hole cut out of the top for the cat to get in and out of doesn’t quite hide the odors enough. Sure you could go spend 500$ on one of those fancy litter robots but dang that’s a lot of money. Anyways about this box. What made me purchase it you ask? Long story short my fiancé was constantly nagging about the previous litter pan. I cleaned it every day and used the arm and hammer powder to cover odor but it still wasn’t satisfying enough for him. I finally started hunting for an affordable litter box on Amazon that had a lot of purchases and good reviews. I came across this one. So what makes this box so grand, so special I asked myself. Then I seen it comes with a filter in the top of the box that somehow magically keeps the odors away. I’ve never owned one like this so I decided to give it a try, even though I had my doubts because every box in the past were disappointments. So we got it, I introduced my cat to it and she took up to it right away. She did her business and stayed in there for quite some time. After she finished I went in to do my nose test and to my surprise couldn’t smell a thing. I was very pleased and I told my fiancé there’s no smell! So he had to go see for himself. I was a little nervous because his sense of smell seems to be more keen than mine and I just knew he was gonna say oh I can still smell it. But to my surprise he was just as pleased as me. He said “Honey, I can’t smell anything, it works!” And he also added “It’s the best purchase you’ve ever made.” So yes, do yourself and your family a favor and buy this box. I know eventually I will have to buy a new filter but they are just a couple dollars and I shouldn’t have to replace it for a few months. What are you waiting for? Stop reading my review and order the box, even your cat will thank you :)

Solid litter box!
I recently purchased the Van Ness Pets Odor Control Large Enclosed Cat Litter Box, and overall, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase. Here are some key points based on my experience: Pros: Odor Control: The enclosed design significantly reduces the spread of litter box odors, making the room feel much fresher. Size: The large size is perfect for my cat, providing enough space for comfort and easy movement. Easy to Clean: The detachable top and smooth surfaces make cleaning the litter box a breeze. The hinged door also helps keep the litter inside while still allowing easy access. Price: At $10.79, it offers great value for money compared to other enclosed litter boxes. Cons: Material: The plastic could be a bit sturdier. It feels a bit flimsy, especially when removing the top for cleaning. Door Design: The door flap sometimes gets stuck, which can be frustrating for my cat. Overall, this litter box meets my needs well, especially in terms of odor control and ease of cleaning. If the material were a bit more durable and the door design improved, it would be perfect. I would recommend this product to other cat owners looking for an affordable and effective solution for litter box odor control.

A Very Good Buy
The Van Ness Cat litter box arrived fast! This Cat box hit all my check boxes for a litter box. It is well made, durable and still light weight. It comes with the bottom portion turned upside down inside of the top and is super easy to assemble. I took the sticker off the flap at the front and had to re-attach it, which was also super easy. I like that it has a filter that helps eliminate odor, and that its fully enclosed, both for privacy for my cat and for my bathroom. It's nice not actually seeing the cat litter exposed. It also helps with the usual litter spillage that I had from my previous litter box. My cat is still just a kitten, and was able to get in and out easily. It's also large and sturdy enough to take him well into adulthood. Also the material seems very easy to clean. Even though it is very durable, it is lightweight and once you clamp down the 4 clamps (2 on either side) you can carry it with the handle. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend this product.

Not big enough for my larger cats
I bought two of these to replace a couple others that looked almost identical. Unfortunately, they are a bit smaller than my old ones and my large cats aren't comfortable using them. Also there are no anti-skid rubber feet on the bottom, so when I try to scoop the litter out, the litter boxe move around on my carpet. The sides are a bit flimsy and the four snap closures that hold the sides together don't secure well. I would not want to pick this up by the handle when it has litter in it--I'd be concerned it might come apart and spill everywhere. I do appreciate that it is all enclosed (although I took the door off), which helps with keeping the odor contained. My smaller cat that uses it also sprays a bit, so the high wall helps keep his urine contained. All in all, it is fairly decent, but smaller than expected and not as sturdy as my old one.

Absolutely solved the problem
I am so happy I found this product. I am fostering a mama cat who cannot use an uncovered litter box. After a month of cleaning up litter all over the closet and bathroom floors daily, I was looking for a little relief. This arrived yesterday and it really solved the problem. There is minimal litter in front of the pan and it is so much easier to clean up. She's a long, skinny little mama (see picture), but she took to it immediately. Anyone who adopts her will have not trouble cleaning up after this little mama. I removed the door so she can just jump in and out easily. The door is a little high, but did not bother her. I'm not sure this would work for a bigger cat, but I am so pleased with the purchase. One complaint is that one of the front plastic locks to keep the two halves together doesn't latch all the way, but no matter. I don't even latch the two pieces. I just set the lid on top and it stays perfectly.

Great litter box with a deep pan that has held up well on our patio
Purchased this litter box for our 4 kittens to use in our patio area. The colors do vary but, we were happy when the litter box we received came in a light cream color. I have replaced all of my litter boxes to these enclosed models and I find them to be wonderful at hiding the odor. This litter box is great at keeping odors enclosed so our patio does not smell at all. It comes with a flap that can be put on as a door but, we did not install this piece and it still keeps the odors inside the box as well as the litter. There is a handle on top of the box that is great when we need to empty the box and to also clean it out. The litter box itself not only looks great but it is very sturdy. This is not a flimsy litter box by any means. The top and bottom part of the litter box snap together securely. The pan of the litter box is deep rather than being wider which, our kittens do like since they can dig deep to bury their business. I find that because this pan is deeper and my kittens dig further down. that I do not need to clean this box as often as I do the litter boxes we keep inside. We also use more litter compared to our indoor litter boxes. When I first received this litter box, I did think it was small until, I noticed the depth verses the width compared to our other models. Our kittens really like it so, that is all that matters. This litter box comes with a vent on top that holds a carbon odor filter which really does help. They are easy to replace on a monthly basis by buying a large carbon filter sheet that you can cut to size which, I have found on Amazon. I found a non-name band just by typing in carbon filter. I paid around $13 but, I was able to cut out 6 months' worth. To sum up my review, I am pleased with how well this litter box has held up being outside. We live in an area where it is hot and humid along with rain all year round. Since we have owned this litter box, it has seen some bad weather and we have not had any problems with how this litter box has held up. The enclosure keeps both the litter and odor inside. Lastly, the litter pan is deep therefore, there has been less scooping needed. This is a litter box that I would recommend to my fellow cat owners.

Worthless Beyond Belief
This is one of multiple examples of purchases I’ve received since Prime Day that were clearly prior returns simply shipped out to the next gullible Prime customer. I purchased this after my kitten outgrew her tiny litter box. Upon opening it, I immediately noticed cat fur on the lid. However, the box said, “Ready To Ship”, and I was naive enough to trust Amazon’s quality control division to assume it was fine. It set it up, based on the instructions. I noticed that the entry lip to the opening didn’t seem to align. and the lid didn’t fit well. I added what was intended to be the swinging hard plastic door entry. I tried to get it to swing back & forth, but it wouldn’t. I eventually (and stupidly) finally decided it was probably fine, and my kitten would figure it out. This was a huge error in judgment on my part. Instead? My kitten, who experienced early trauma by being abandoned at 2 weeks old, found herself trapped inside the litter box when the door enclosure would not swing open. I subsequently used construction glue and duct tape (both of which I didn’t want to expose my kitten to) in an attempt to align the top and bottom of the box, so the door would work. Unfortunately, to no avail. This product arrived in the middle of a very hot and humid summer. Although I actively avoid any flies entering the house? This was a challenging summer in that regard.. So, on to step two of the litter box project! I needed a covering, & I obviously couldn’t return it as it was filled with kitty litter and had been used (Amazon would just pass it onto another customer if I had 🤣😡). I cut a portion of my shower curtain out and duct taped it to the opening, so my kitten could get in and out and the box was protected from flying insects. I honestly can’t say if this is a manufacturer’s issue. I suspect it’s an Amazon issue with regard to lack of quality control. Regardless? Unless you want to devote hours to trying to makeshift a litter box that was intended to make your life easier? I’d shy away from this item.

Large enough for my cat to comfortably use the washroom and have some privacy
Was skeptical it would keep my cat from throwing all her litter outside of her box, but the flap works perfectly and helps keep all the litter contained. The scent is most definitely dampened with the lid on the box and it is easy to remove the lid for simple cleaning. I do wish the clamps were more secure on the side as they seem a little flimsy but has yet to be a concern and has remained in tact so far. Overall great product.

Sturdy, great extra-deep dish, good smell-filter, swinging door attached very well
This litterbox is an excellent size. It's not unusually tall in my experience, in spite of what other reviewers say, coming up below knee level on me (I'm 5ft 9in = 175cm). The pan is just a bit deeper than the average box. Our cat is petite (4kg), 7 years old, and still has absolutely no trouble climbing into the box. It would be a tricky climb for a kitten, but you should always use a smaller tray with kittens. The high tray is actually very helpful; if a covered litterbox has a shallow pan, then cats (especially male cats) may relieve themselves too close to the side and you'll get dripping down the outside. Not with this litterbox -- the tall prevents that. The door is excellent because it completely covers the opening (which helps to prevent smell), swings very freely in both directions so that it's easy for my cat use, and it's firmly attached. Other swinging-door litterboxes tend to fall off over time, which is annoying. This one doesn't do that. It's very well-attached. The plastic is nice and sturdy, not flimsy. The top snaps securely into place, and has an air filter on top that really helps prevent smell, while still allowing a little air flow for the cat. We clean the litterbox once a day, and never notice any serious odor. Ours shipped with the top the same color as the bottom (blue), and it has a nice sleek look to it. If you've never used a covered litterbox before, you'll love it. It really reduces mess and smell, and a lot of cats prefer the privacy. If your cat has never used one, here's how you teach them to use it. (1) Show the cat the litterbox without the cover, and let them use it a day or two, cleaning as normal. (2) Once your cat is used to the uncovered tray, wait for a time that the litterbox is dirty, and put the cover on without the door attached. It's important that the pan is dirty when the cover first goes on, so that your cat can smell their own scent inside and feel comfortable. (3) After your cat has gotten used to using the litterbox without the door, attach the door (again with the litterbox dirty). Back up a step or two if needed and try again for nervous cats. Always make sure your litterbox is in a stress-free environment, so that your cat feels comfortable doing his or her business and isn't tempted to soil. Especially keep dogs and other stressors away when your cat is learning to use her covered box.

Great for messy cats
We have a kitten that loves to flick its litter everywhere. With this, it can flick to its hearts content, and we can hear him inside, flicking, and everyone is happy. He has no problem getting in or out. It is big, but works for us.
