The 80/10/10 Reference Guide on Food Combinations and Nutrition

Very Useful food combining summary for vegans to help avoid digestive problems
Whilst Dr. Graham is a 100 % raw foodist (one of the most famous, whose philosophies are amazingly simple and easy to follow), foods which mainly need to be cooked like grains, potatoes, beans and pulses are included in this guide; meat, fish and eggs are also mentioned. It might seem very expensive for the few sheets it contains (6 double sided sheets), but it contains a lot of concentrated information and if it helps you avoid digestive upset / headaches/ candida etc., or helps you really understand the raw vegan principles Dr. Graham follows so you can see if they work for you, then it is worth every penny. The basic 80/10/10 principles are included on pages 2 and 3 and it is laminated for kitchen use.The only part of using this which is not explained, possibly because it may seem too obvious (and probably isn't necessary for someone fully following Dr. Graham's principles) is how soon after the previous meal you can safely eat the next - this is basically when the previous meal has left your stomach, otherwise you are mixing foods unintentionally. As I understand it, "Eat when hungry" probably covers this - but roughly, fruit digests really quickly and may have left the stomach after 30 minutes (bananas up to 1 hour), a properly combined meal may take around 4 hours, an improperly combined meal much longer, and a diet too high in oils or fats can upset the whole system by interfering with carbohydrate metabolism. It is assumed that readers know that 80/10/10 refers to 80% carbohydrate, 10% protein, 10% fats/oils - the approximate % of calories which should come from each of these food groups.
