An Excellent Book About Where Technology Has Been And Where It’s Headed
The Future Of Disruptive technologies, is an excellently written, highly readable, extremely well sourced non-fiction book, that outlines both the benefits and dangers presented by the adoption of new and emerging technologies in the business and education worlds, along with society as a whole. It provides excellent background material on how far technology has come since the invention of the computer in the 1950’s. In addition, it outlines how certain technologies will most likely be utilized in the future and the impact that they will have on humanity. All of the chapters within the book are very informative and interesting, but in my humble opinion, the most enlightening is the fourth chapter about Autonomous Driving how it relates to artificial intelligence and the upsides and consequences that it will entail. A thorough and intriguing history of Autonomous Driving is presented along with speculations about where it is headed and the ultimate changes that it will wrought in both positive and unsettling ways is well explored. There are no deficiencies that I could find in The Future Of Disruptive technologies. It is well thought out, well researched and well composed. However, there is a possibility that some might find it to be a bit like reading a doctoral dissertation or a treatise. But, the book in no way claims to be a riveting pice of storytelling non-fiction. Therefore, how it is formatted and what is contained in it is to be expected. Finally, in no way does the book’s slightly academic bent detract from how interesting it is. So, if you are curious about where the future of technology is headed and how it will impact us all, then you should definitely read this book. You are sure to love it. If you appreciate good writing, you should read this book. It has it in spades. Or if you are one who wants to prepare yourself for the highly technological based future that is just around the corner, you should read this book. I can think of no better guide.

Exceptional, timely, and well-written book!
Dr. Srikanth Gaddam’s ‘The Future of Disruptive Technologies: Impacts on Business, Workforce, and Societies’ is a well-researched, timely, and easy-to-read book that focuses on the myriad changes that have occurred in society because of the fast-paced and ever-changing technologies.Dr. Gaddam uses hard data and graphics to explain how specific technologies (like AI, cloud computing, virtual reality, and 5G) impact business, individuals, the workforce, and society as a whole. There are numerous benefits – job creation, better health care services, enhanced safety, and improved workforce productivity. We are in the midst of a massive transformation where efficiency and convenience are front and center. I was especially fascinated by the chapter on the blockchain, and I appreciate how Dr. Gaddam explained a topic I find somewhat complicated.I do not think that people realize the profound impact that technologies have had on a global scale. The fast-moving changes make information obsolete in the blink of an eye, but Dr. Gaddam’s book is helpful in that it sets the context and provides historical information. How far we’ve come, and so fast! One critical point that was made involves students acquiring the necessary skills for problem-solving and keeping up with technological innovations. The educational system is often lacking, and students are often ill-prepared for the new professional landscape that is emerging. One critically important issue is cybersecurity and data privacy. I was astounded to learn how frequently cyberattacks occur (and we are seeing this more and more in the news). It hits close to home, as I work for a company that experienced a significant cyberattack just last month. It took the business offline for a few days. It is essential that companies and organizations take cybersecurity very seriously. This book was also incredibly thought-provoking, as I have told my teens that college is becoming more and more unnecessary because they can learn anything they’d like on the internet! We are truly living in the “age of information” and this fascinating book is great for professionals and laypeople alike. Dr. Gaddam found a way to take a somewhat dry topic and make it interesting and useful. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in learning about just how much technology has impacted our lives – and how it has actually always impacted peoples’ lives throughout history. and the possibilities for the future.

Addresses many questions for future of tech
Dr. Srikanth Gaddam informs readers about the possibilities of technology, good and bad in “The Future of Disruptive Technologies: Impacts on Business, Workforce, and Societies.” He discusses many implications of all kinds of things, not limited to Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, big data, cybersecurity, and 5g. There aren’t many books out there like this, and as our society becomes more centered around technology, it is essential to ask questions like the ones in this book. We also read about how these can impact education, work, and our relationships and how this could change for us.I liked this book and thought it was intriguing and well written. It also seemed to have been edited well, which is a great bonus for me. It is easily digestible and set up by topic in an easy to read way. He talks about impacts of each topic on the three main parts of his book: workforce, business and society. Most people don’t think of technology this way but I enjoyed it. My only qualm was that maybe this author has some bias and didn’t explore other sides of certain technologies. However this is quite understandable since it’s one of his specialities and he has a specific opinion on it.Overall I recommend this book to anyone with limited or vast technological knowledge and unanswered questions about it. You will find something interesting no matter your age or skills.
