Loved the size(easily held in one hand), heft, build, operation and brightness(very bright) The focus to flood feature where the lens of the torch/flashlight can be slid up or down is handy especially since it can be done with a single hand due to the provision of a rounded ring at the base of the metal head. The light is a bit yellowish and this can make it seem like it is not as bright when compared to a pure white beam, but it isn't the case. This colour seems to be more easy on the eyes and so it doesn't hurt as much as the pure white ones. Recharging: Recharging the provided batter can be done either with the port on the flashlight itself or directly on the battery with the help of the port present on the battery itself. A huge +point is that this torch can be recharged with USB power delivery (i.e where the cable is usb C on both ends), so no need to worry and wonder about if your phone's cable would work. Took about 3 to 4 hrs(approximately) to recharge from empty. And it remain charged for multiple weeks, honestly I didn't use it much and never fully drained it even once over the 3 weeks it was with me. Versatile, since a AAA battery adapter is provided to use 3 AAA batteries if the provided rechargable one ever goes out. Had to return it since I didn't have much use for it, even though it was outstanding for what it was built for. Would happily recommend to others.

My third Coast Product and again they did not disappoint. Solid heavy feel. Quality USB cord for charging. If like my other Coast products charge will last a long time. Highly recommended.

Have had this flashlight for about 2 years now and it’s been great, I use it 4 days a week for work and I’ve dropped it numerous times and although it gets scratched up the glass hasn’t cracked and the light hasn’t stopped working, I did drop it from a very high altitude and I thought it was done for but the battery seems to have exploded, replaced the battery and it’s still going strong! Battery lasts a great time too, sometimes I can go 2-3 days with battery on red and it’ll still turn on! Great flashlight for the money! Wish it was a bit smaller and maybe brighter but besides that it’s a great flashlight and I have trust in coast’s products. Recently ordered an Olight headlamp that ended up dying within a few hours of use meanwhile my buddies were telling me to get the coast that they had and I just ordered the headlamp as well for less than the Olight

These are my initial thoughts while unboxing the Coast XP11R LED rechargeable flashlight. Packaging... Standard box with plastic to contain the flashlight & related bits. Surprised it came with instructions... Brief, just one sheet of paper. Once you work through sliding the plastic packaging out from the outer cardboard box, you will be challenged by how to open it without scratching the flashlight. It is not possible to remove the flashlight from this packaging without cutting it completely open and pretty much destroying it. Enough on this. The flashlight... Feels heavy & solid in the hand. Metallic (aluminum/non-ferrous) from top to bottom, not slippery, matte black finish. Not sure if projector style lens is glass or plastic. Comes with the rechargeable battery & lanyard installed. Simple to operate. USB C port is cleverly hidden, you wouldn't know this is a rechargeable unit just by looking at it. The ON/OFF button cycles through brightness levels... you have to cycle through all of them to shut it OFF. I think this is standard, but would have liked a way it shut off immediately (i.e.: hold button for 2 seconds). It weighs in at 8.1oz (231g) with the rechargeable battery. I didn't weigh it with the included adapter & three AAA alkaline batteries. For weight comparison, Energizer non-rechargeable all plastic body unit of similar size weighs 5.1oz (145.5g) with two AA alkaline batteries. Initial feeling, if you need a flashlight for daily use... this unit looks like it will handle normal wear & tear well. I can guess the first thing that will be damaged from daily use will be the rubbery switch cover. On the packaging, it describes that this unit is IP54 rated. So not submersible in water, but looks like it should handle dust, splashes and rain okay. I know this not a beat-it-up/put-it-through-the-wringer review, but I hope this is helpful.

Excellent light, and a great price.

The Coast brand is really reliable and becoming my preferred brand for both every day use and emergency bags. The lumens on this one are not blinding bright but are great for most circumstances. It's solidly built and does not feel flimsy. The on/off switch is crisp and the light turns on and off reliably (with other brands I've had to push the button a couple of times to get it to turn on).

Super bright! Have dropped it several times and takes a beating. Really love the charging, no more burning through AAA’s! 💯

Works great. Unscrew the back cap and plug it into your USB port and charge it the first time. Lights up my 20-floor apartment complex easy at night from the driveway. For a tiny light that fits in the palm of your hand, it's very powerful. Just don't look directly at it, day OR night.
