MedlineMedline EquaGel Balance Cushions, 18 x 16

I have chronic joint pain due to Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS). I also have spina bifida occulta and that, coupled with a VERY hypermobile sacroiliac joint leads to chronic pain. I also have osteoarthritis of the spine (degenerative disc disease) as a result of my hEDS and fibromyalgia. I am a grad student so I sit at my computer regularly and wanted something supportive that would hold up for years. I thought about buying the Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion but, when I saw this, it looked identical and I know Medline has been around forever. Plus, my great uncle used to work for the company. My mom, to my great surprise, had the same cushion I wanted to buy so I got to test it out before purchasing it. I love this cushion. It is supportive and comfortable at the same time. I feel like it will last a long time if taken care of properly. My mom's cushion looks really nice and she's had it for 3 years. I am super grateful I found this and I would recommend it to those who are looking for pressure point relief.

After 60+ years of wheelchair living, I find this cushion to be the the most comfortable ever. However, it appears that they have lined the top part of the cushion cover with some sort of soft material as the surface of the gel material is a but rough. After the first washing the soft material applied to the cover pretty much dissolved leaving a mess in the washing machine. Use care when cleaning.

I bought this to augment the seat cushion on my office chair and it is the most comfortable seat cushion I've ever sat on. There is no air or liquid to leak and it stays cool and distributes weight very evenly. It is a little expensive because it is medical-grade and designed for wheelchairs and pressure-relief applications. It is very durable and includes a washable cover with a handle. I will likely purchase another for my vehicle.

Excellent product. Purchase 1 for my wheelchair-bound elderly, and according to her, it supports her well, conforming to her shape, without being overbearingly soft. And it does not get hot and stuffy with prolonged sittings. Definitely a good buy!

WOW! You get what you pay for, and this being a positive for this cushion. It's like sitting on a honeycomb of gel. If your looking for a cushion that will stand the test of time and not turning into a sandbag, this cushion is it. I like it so much I took the cover off, it's like it takes away from the gel comfort.Whoever designed this gets an A1++++ from me and a BIG THANK YOU!The gel material is well made, holds together well, stretchy, but goes right back into place. I will be getting more for my car and desk chair.

Pro: It makes a good alternative as an al day cushion. I'm in a wheelchair all day and get tired of sitting on any one type cushion.Con: I have to keep watch on the inserts intended to decrease the sink-in depth, there is a tendency to work out of position. Weight is very significant.
