Collapsible PVC Garden Water Butt with Zipped Lid & Drain Tap, 250L - DG9

Excellent - very clever !! Impressed !
Really easy to assemble, v. heavy-duty; but the legs need to be on fairly level ground - they’re adjustable but they don’t stay adjusted if it is full of water. (I’ve got the larger, 250 L. one). Easily fixed with a stone slab under the downhill side. Supporting the centre of the base with a slab about 40 cm sq. under the centre helps take the weight off the legs too. The overflow can be detached & replaced with a standard diverter that has a built in overflow - see my 2nd photo. No need to direct your down pipe into the centre mesh hole although that hole is a good idea because it collects rain that falls on top. Two taps at different heights is very useful. I didn’t know these butts existed, found by accident and I’m impressed !! You can disconnect it & empty & clean it in winter when not required. I’m collecting some bath water as well as rainwater - they run down the same down pipe in many old houses - the diverter I bought separately has a manual switch as well as the auto - overflow so I can send it to drain if I want to (& when the butt isn’t there).

A little smaller than I expected but great idea
Bought to take water from greenhouse roof. Liked the idea of water filling just by dropping onto the little meshed opening on the top of the zipped cover as didn’t have a formal down pipe to use one of the diverters like you would if you install a water butt onto house guttering and down pipes. It gets sturdier the fuller it gets. Like the fact that you have both a tap for filling a watering can further up the butt, but you can attach a hoselock type hosepipe at the bottom if you did want to attach a hosepipe so very flexible in that regard. Overall we’re pleased with the purchase.

Everyone should have one
I've got this with guttering leading from my shed and it's amazing. In two weeks or so with the recent rain it's filled up rapidly! I just wish I would stop raining so I can see what it's like with a hose.It takes minutes to assemble and disassemble if for whatever reason you might need to move it. It's far sturdier than I ever expected and the material is really tough. It's much smaller and less noticeable than a traditional plastic barrel water butt. I'd get another if I had the space.

Wasn't sure but proved me wrong
I bought this as a top up tank behind my pond. I didn't have high hopes but so far it's sturdy enough when full and doing exactly what I wanted.Only drawback is the tap, it's really tight despite been used many times so far, I would suggest using 2 hands to open the tap with one holding the housing to stop it twisting on the tank.

Leak from drain pipe at the bottom (240 L water butt)
I was very pleased with my 100 L one and went for the 240 L one. Unfortunately there is a leak from the drain piper from the latter water butt... I have tried to make it tight it more, but in vain it still leaks. I am disappointed.
